Story
This is Bug, a senior sweetie.  He was taken in as a stray, so we're not sure of his age, but he is older.  He is extremely sweet and docile.  He's been around other cats - he was very calm and respectful of their space.  He did not show any aggressive behaviors.  Bug loves snuggles and pets.  He's very trusting of new people.  He always uses the litter box. Bug is super-super sweet and deserves to be with people who will love and care for him.  We're not completely sure of his prior situation, but it's clear he loves to soak up all the human attention he can get.  If you're looking for a friendly cat that is house trained and you have time to provide quality time for snuggles, Bug might be the one for you.   The perfect home for Bug would be with people who will give him lots of love.  He was malnourished when he was found, but he has gained some weight and seems to be at a healthy weight now.  Bug is currently getting ear drops for an ear infection.  He might need to have some dental work, so potential adopters should be aware of that.  Bug is FIV positive which means he has a weaker immune system.   The suggested adoption donation for Bug is $85, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note:  A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Pixie is looking for a new place to call home.  She was born in May 2020, so if you're looking for a friendly cat that is past the kitten stage, Pixie might be your girl!  She’s still spunky, but enjoys to lounge and nap too.  Please help us find Pixie her furever home. The suggested adoption donation for Pixie is $85.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match.  If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet.  The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter.  We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. Story
Handsome, talkative lovebug! Mr. Eugene is a perfect handsome gentleman always dressed in his finest 'tuxedo.' He is a lover who will start purring as soon as he climbs up on your stomach.   He likes to give kisses and head butt you and is not afraid to flip over on his back for a good belly rub. Sometimes he gets so content and purring when he gets loved on that he drools a little (but not to a point that it is a problem).   He is quite a 'talker' and has Houdini-like skills. He has been known to break out through both a basement bathroom door and a basement door to come upstairs to see what was happening! He must have some serious FOMO!   Eugene has been fully vetted and current on vaccinations. He has not demonstrated any behavioral or litter box issues. He let me trim his nails the first day that I began fostering him. Eugene was surrendered to SOLAS when previous owners developed cat allergies.   AGE: 2 years DOB: 2/7/2024   If he doesn't get scooped up beforehand, Eugene will be moving to Humane Pet Services LLC later this week, but can be adopted anytime before that. Don't miss out on this talkative lovebug — contact Solas Rescue today! March 9, 2026, 5:10 pm
