Story
My name is Selena!  I am a Calico Domestic Medium Hair born 05/6/2021.  I am good with kiddos and select cats alike, though I am unsure about our canine friends.  I like to hang out with my people during the day and night if you let me!  Sometimes I get a little nervous if I can't find you or hang out in the same room. I like to play and chase the other cats in my hoome. Scratching posts are one of my favorite things!  After playing, it's nap time and if you're lucky, I might even curl up with you on the couch!  I am about to head to our foster home and will be sure to share more soon! The suggested adoption donation for Selena is $65. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes.  Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page.  ##1114832##

Story
Meet Mae, a beautiful Domestic Medium Hair cat who was born around February of 2021. Mae was given her name based on its meaning. It means “beloved” and is derived from the name May which is connect to the Roman godess Maia who is the godess of growth and motherhood. Mae had a really rough chapter in life, before coming into rescue. Mae was one of 22+ cats that were left abandoned in a mobile home. Sadly, only 18 of these sweet babies made it to rescue. Luckily, Mae was one of them. As she has settled into a foster home and began receiving medical care after being left in deplorable conditions. Mae has shown that she is a very loving cat who can just be shy at first. She is very cat friendly and would probably benifit from having a feline friend in her forever home. At this time we are unsure how she would do with dogs and children, though loud noises do scare her so we feel it would be best for children 6 years of age and older only. As we learn more about Mae we will be sure to share it. But we hope you will concider being Mae's second chance on life! The suggested adoption donation for Mae is $65. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.  Alter Agreement: If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you. Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost. If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice. If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses. All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age. All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. Story
Welcome to your second chance sweet Posh! Posh is a Domestic Medium Hair cat who was born around March of 2021.  She is slowly warming up and slowly coming out of her shell.  She's still a littl unsure about humans, but Posh played with her foster mom for the first time!  She's eating well and really starting to take charge of her new area.  So far, she doesn't seem to mind other cats and although she's not had a lot of interaction with dogs, she hasn't seemed to mind them.  Posh is also doing great with the litter box. Due to her being a little shy, she would love a home with older kids (13+).  We'll keep sharing updates as we learn more about her!  She has such a huge, sweet heart! This sweet girl along with over twenty other cats was left abandoned in horrific conditions. Lucky for her, a good samaritan reached out for help. Posh and seventeen other cats were rescued in time and are now looking for their forever homes! She is a very sweet girl, but is slow to warm up.  Who can blame her!  The suggested adoption donation for Posh is $65. Welcome to your second chance sweet Ginger! Ginger is a Domestic Medium Hair cat who was born around March of 2021.  Ginger is doing well.  She is still very cautious around humans, but loves the creamy temptation treats and will lick them off your fingers (although growling the whole time while eating it).  She does well with other cats, but she is unsure about dogs.  Due to being a little shy, she would love a home with older kids (13+).  She is also doing great with the litter box.  She has such a huge, sweet heart!  We'll keep sharing updates as we learn more about her. Story
Mimo was re-homed me after living w/ her previous owners for 1 yr. I’ve had her for 7 months now & she is a sweet girl, but does not get along well with other animals, which is the reason I am re-homing. She loves to have her own space, but occasionally wants cuddles, pets, and hugs. She is a sassy girl, but is not mean in any way. Looking for the forever-home she deserves that will not have other pets.

Story
We found him in our basement, lost , he was an outside cat, he was skinny and a bit dirty. My son was 9 yrs old at the time and didn't want to let him go, so we kept him. When I took him to get neutered, they told me he was approx 1 1/2 yr old, so as of this year 2024, he'll be 8 years old. He is current on his rabie shots. He is a good house cat, after a while, you do need to replace or clean really good the litter box to avoid bathroom issues outside the litter box. He's good around kids, likes to be petted, just not snuggled to much. He'll sleep and be playful and likes to eat 3 times a day. My kids don't pay much attention to him anymore and don't clean up after him and I have allergies, so looking for a new home for him. He would be missed.

Story
Sweet Frankie girl loves to be brushed and loves head and chin scratches. She likes to play with her cat toys alone or with her favorite humans. One of the most friendly cats I have met, would be a great companion for a retiree or someone who works from home. Even tolerates car rides with minimal fuss and likes the extra attention at the vet! She seems indifferent to dogs unless they bark at her and seems open to making friends with other cats but is in a one cat home currently. Friendly with all adult and teen humans she has met so far, haven't seen her with children, but she is generally a chill and curious cat. Love her so much but can't keep her due to health reasons for someone in our home. We rescued her from a shelter and were told she is around 4 years old. Spayed, not declawed.

This pretty mama raised her babies while in foster and now it’s her turn. She’s not crazy about other cats, may prefer to be the only cat. She is small and petite. She is super sweet girl and deserves a home of her own where she can have all the love and time she needs to be part of a family.
