Story
Meet Felina — Your Calm & Gentle Companion Felina is a beautiful Scottish Straight -  with a soft spirit and a heart full of sweetness. She’s housebroken/litter trained, cat friendly, stranger friendly, and wonderfully gentle with children of all ages.  Felina is approximately 2 years old, born in 2024. Personality & Temperament Felina is the perfect match for someone seeking a calm, lowmaintenance companion. Independent: She enjoys her quiet time and doesn’t require constant attention. Shy at first: Felina can be timid when meeting new people or cats, but she warms up beautifully with patience and kindness. ‍ Catfriendly: She has lived peacefully with two cats before—after a few weeks of slow introductions, she settled in wonderfully. Kidfriendly: Gentle and tolerant with children under 6 and those 6–16. Ideal Home Felina would thrive in a calm household—whether that’s a single adopter, a quiet family, or a home with respectful kids and friendly cats. She’s the kind of cat who brings peace, comfort, and companionship without demanding much in return. Why You’ll Love Her Felina is the cat who will sit nearby while you read, work, or relax. She’s affectionate in her own quiet way and blossoms when given time, safety, and love. If you’re looking for a serene, steady presence in your home, Felina is truly a gem.   The suggested adoption donation for Felina is $200, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for theirpet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. ##2785481##

Story
This is Salem, our black kitty. We got her in February of 2022, and her birthdate is December 24th of 2021. She’s five years old and so full of life. Unfortunately, both of my young children have an extreme allergy to cats. Therefore I am unable to give her the life she deserves. It breaks my heart, and it hurts to know she’s not receiving the love and life she deserves. Serious inquiries only, my phone # is (xxx) xxx-xxxx .

Story
My long time humans are unfortunately having to find me a new home because of where they are moving to next month. On top of that, I am very old (at least 18) and with age has come a couple of behavioral issues, primarily struggling to use the litter box consistently and being unable to groom myself. I don’t like it when they try to do it for me, so I’ve developed some really bad mats in my fur that they can’t relieve me of.My human is reaching out here in hopes that someone with experience in homing elderly cats will be able to take me in and give me a quiet place to live out whatever time I have left. I’m a really sweet boy who loves having my head scratched, wet cat food, string cheese (yum!), and soft blankets. I have lived with another cat before, but it’s been several years, and a dog as of a few years ago.It breaks my human’s heart that she can’t keep me when I’ve been with her almost half of her life. She just wants to know I’ll be safe and content wherever I end up.

Story
Chloe is a sweet girl about 6-7 years old.  She was a stray a few years ago and a nice lady took her in knowing she had to be a house cat before.  She is a total indoor cat now.  She just wants to sit on your lap and get petted.  She is an easy going cat.  Chloe is fine with other cats we think she will be fine with a dog after some time same goes with kids.   She is spayed and current on rabies. All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try to email first. We are all volunteers that work so we can not easily take or make phone calls.July 11, 2026, 12:48 pm
