Story
Zoe was rehomed by us when her original owner moved away four years ago. She is now 7 and has a deep meow when she talks. Gets along with our other dogs, cats and children just fine. She has been living outside and is content to do so, and stays around the house, however with winter coming, this wont be feasible for her. she does have a small growth on the side of her neck which is not infected and doesnt seem to bother her (its been checked by our vet and they werent concerned with it). She enjoys being petted, but doesnt like to be held for too long, and doesnt like being in enclosed small spaces.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.OKAASAN was surrendered to the rescue through no fault of her own and now finds herself looking for a new home. Her name is a Japanese one for mama and seeing as she’s being posted for adoption on Mother’s Day, it seems only fitting that she’d have a rescue name in honour of that. She’s spayed, had her first set of vaccines including a rabies shot, a microchip and she wears a flea and tick collar. She’s also been deemed a healthy girl by the vet. She’s a super smart girl who loves affection but can be a bit timid when she first meets new people. It doesn’t take her long to come around though and she soon shows her affectionate, snuggly side. She loves to play “fish” games on the iPad and also one where she chases squirrels around with her paw. Her fur is medium to long in length so she’ll need constant brushing/combing or grooming about every 6-8 weeks to prevent knotting of her fur.  OkAASAN will give playful “love bites” and sometimes they happen when she’s being all affectionate with you and she forgets herself and does that little playful bite. She’s also been known to give an odd paw swot here and there but there’s no malice behind it and she’s just showing off her playful nature. She’s a pretty active girl who will run around and play with all sorts of cat toys and then just take a nap and that will normally be in her cat tree or curled up with you on the couch,  OKAASAN uses the litter box and is very clean with it too. She loves to eat both kibble and wet food and she’s not fussy on what brand she eats either and the same can be said of the treats she eats too. She likes to sit in her cat tree and she’ll also sit at the window to watch the birds, squirrels and chipmunks playing outside. She was originally in a home with a dog but there wasn’t a whole lot of interaction between them so if there’s one in her new home then they should be cat savvy plus be quiet and gentle in nature. As always we do recommend a slow introduction with the resident dog as it’s kept leashed for the first few times they meet each other. She hasn’t shared a home with another cat so being the only cat in the home is probably best for her. The home that’s probably most suitable for her is one where she has someone home with her for most of day, especially if she’s going to be an only pet in the home. She has met a few children over the years but hasn’t lived with any so we’re advising if any in the home they should be aged 10yrs and up plus be gentle, loving and caring towards animals.  If you would like to meet OKAASAN then please submit an adoption application to do so.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 27, 2026, 3:32 pm
