She expects that you’ll entrust her with her responsibilities and then give her the time and space she needs to accomplish her task. These cats have little to no experience with people, and their instinct is to lay low and keep their distance. This working cat will work hard from the shadows.Our Working/Barn Cat Program is designed to find feral and community cats safe outdoor homes in barns, warehouses, farms, and other safe locations for cats that are not candidates for our traditional adoption programs. Uhtred (oo-tread) is named after a Viking warrior to help him be strong and brave. He tries to live up to his namesake with mighty little meows but Uhtred is, at heart, a shy lil guy. He likes to be close and involved, but not too close. For example, he might check in on what your doing, but from a vantage point or down the hall. Uhtred prefers to enjoy company from a safe distance. He is good at being handled and will let you know when he does not want to be with some Viking-like grumbles. We have had him for 5 years. He patiently moved across the country with us from Virginia to Washington (over 2800 miles)! Uhtred loves liquid treats and soft catfood. If you’re lucky, he might stand up on his hind legs for a snack. He is a good boy.
