Story
Meet Virgil - our eligible bachelor with the most irresistible puppy-dog face! This sweet, bashful boy is just starting to come out of his shell, and he's showing us how much he wants to learn what life is like with a caring human companion.Virgil arrived as a stray, so we're still discovering his true personality. We suspect he may have had a difficult past, and it takes him a little time to trust new people. But once he does, his playful side shines through. He loves to bounce around, play, and enjoy some good old-fashioned butt scritches!Because we don't know much about his history, slow and thoughtful introductions to new family members-both two-legged and four-legged-are important. Virgil would thrive in a stable, quiet home where he's given the time and space to observe the world and try new things at his own pace. Treats won't be the key to his heart, but mutual respect and patience will.If Virgil sounds like the perfect match for you, please fill out an adoption application using the link below. He can't wait to meet his new best friend!!https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 28.3 Age: 2yrs 0mths 4wks

Story
Befitting her name meaning rippling water, Popples is a high energy, active gal who keeps life fun! p🥳 Popples is a 1.5 year old Boxer/Brussels Griffon mix weighing approximately 40 pounds. ❣️Popples is truly a one-of-a-kind little gremlin. Her goofy antics and playful personality will bring joy to any home. She loves chewing on antlers, playing fetch, and snuggling with her favorite humans. While she can be reactive around other dogs, she's making significant strides in her socialization journey. With proper introductions and managed playdates, she could thrive in a home with a well-mannered canine companion. She is not suited for an off-leash dog park or doggy daycare. 🐕 🧑‍🤝‍🧑Popples' boundless energy and playful nature might be a bit much for young children. She'd do best in a home with older kids/adults who can keep up with her and provide the mental and physical stimulation she craves. Cats? Not so much. They seem to resemble tasty snacks to Popples, she wouldn't do well with other small animals either. 🚫🐈 😱Popples is a great walker when the environment is calm and quiet. However, she can get a bit fearful around bicycles, loud trucks and loud noises. With consistent training and a strong, patient human, she can learn to manage her reactivity. She is a total pro at crate training. She's happy to relax in her crate, especially during her recovery period. As she continues to grow and learn, she can gradually transition to free-roaming.💗 🚽Popples potty trained and very efficient in doing so outside! A Few Things to Note: - She's a big fan of most toys, but antlers are her absolute favorite. - Popples needs an active lifestyle including daily walks, playtime, and mental stimulation.🏃

Story
Meet Kilo! 🐾🧡 This handsome 9-month-old Boxer pup is the full package — sweet, silly, and ready to steal your heart. Kilo is a gentle soul with a playful spark, great with other dogs and even friendly with cats 🐶🐱 (though he might sneak in a playful chase, so dog-savvy kitties are best!). Kilo is fully house and leash trained, and he's also crate trained, often choosing to curl up in his crate 💤 for a nap all on his own; however if given the choice, he'd always pick a good snuggle over anything else. His clumsy little trot is part of his irresistible charm, and while he's still learning the ropes (like what's okay to chew 🦴), he's a quick study and eager to please. Kilo can be a little cautious in new situations, but his curious nature and big heart help him bounce back with a little encouragement. He's got all the energy you'd expect from a boxer his age but is just as happy to settle in for a cuddle session 🐕‍🦺💤 after a good play. Tough toys are a must (this boy loves his ball time 🎾!), and he's looking for a home that will keep his body and brain busy — and his heart full. 💛 Ready to fall in love? Kilo's waiting for his forever person! 🏡

Story
Meet Shorty: The Compact Comedian Shorty, affectionately nicknamed "Tank" for his robust build and determination, is a 3-year-old English Bulldog with a moderate energy level and a heart of gold. Don't let his name fool you—he's a fun-sized powerhouse of snorts and cuddles who thrives on being part of the family action. Fast Facts! ⚡ - He gets along great with both large and small breed dogs! - Good for Older Kids! 👍 Shorty loves his foster humans (ages 8 and 10), but he has not been tested with younger kids. - Cat-Friendly! 😻 He is curious but shows no drive to chase. - Shorty has not been tested with other animals, but his gentle demeanor suggests he'd be open to new friends. ✋Shorty does well on the leash, but be warned: he has a tendency to get stubborn and stop when he has a destination or activity in mind. He responds best to patience and encouragement—never pull or rush this little tank! 🚽He is mostly potty trained, but he may mark occasionally, especially when settling into a new environment. Consistent routines will keep him on track. 😴He sleeps soundly through the night and is quiet and content when left secured during the day. His kennel is his safe, happy place. Shorty has a few more endearing habits: ⚽Shorty's absolute favorite pastime is playing with all kinds of balls! He's a master of self-entertainment and can keep himself happily occupied for hours, a great trait for a busy home. 🍗He LOVES to eat. If you are running late with his dinner, he has a habit of playing with his bowl to remind you it's time to refill! ♥ ️Shorty needs a family that appreciates the stubborn charm of a bulldog and can provide a consistent routine and lots of affection. If you're looking for a loyal, humorous, and compact companion, Tank is ready to roll into your heart! **Shorty will be on eye meds for life so future adopters must be prepared for that cost. Shorty's adoption fee is $800.
