He came to us after a heartbreaking change in his previous family’s life. It was an incredibly difficult decision, made out of love—his owner wanted to ensure Duke would end up in a home where he could be happy, safe, and loved as he deserves. Duke is the kind of dog who wins hearts immediately. He’s friendly, outgoing, and affectionate, with a personality that lights up a room. He loves people—whether you’re a familiar face or a new friend, Duke is quick to make a connection. His love for attention is matched only by his calm, confident nature. He’s playful when the moment calls for it but also knows how to relax and enjoy quiet time with his favorite humans. This sweet boy gets along wonderfully with other dogs and even cats, making him a versatile companion for many types of homes. He’s confident but not pushy, happy, and steady in new situations. Duke walks well on a leash, rides comfortably in the car, and already knows some basic commands, making him a joy to have along for life’s adventures. Duke is a true foodie—he’s a treat enthusiast and a snack king—but who can blame him? He has earned every bit of enjoyment in life.
