Story
Leo is a vibrant, joyful 2-year-old with a French Bulldog mom—and a dad who remains a bit of a mystery! He’s full of energy, endlessly playful, and has a personality that lights up any room. Leo has always been an apartment dog, but his previous family realized he would thrive in a home where he could have more space to run, play, and burn off all that energy. Leo is incredibly social—he loves everyone he meets and doesn’t know a stranger. He’s always been an only pet and would do best in a home without cats, as he has a strong prey drive. He’s happiest when he has a chance to play and explore, so an active adopter who can give him plenty of attention, walks, and playtime will be ideal. Leo is a true blank canvas when it comes to life skills. He’s never been on a leash, isn’t house trained, and has never been crate trained. He does know how to sit, but he’ll need patient, consistent guidance to help him learn the basics and develop into the well-mannered companion he’s capable of becoming. This energetic, affectionate pup will thrive with a family who can commit to training, structure, and lots of playtime. If you’re ready for a happy, playful, loveable bundle of energy who will keep you laughing and smiling every day, Leo is ready to meet you!

She loves to play. She needs a big back yard fenced. She is a inside dog but loves to go outside for play. She is potty trained and crate trained she does sleep in her crate at night but has slept on the bed also. She does not so far tear anything up. only getting her a new home because she was my husband's dog and he passed I had to move to a apartment she has to much energy for me. She is a year and 3 months old been fixed up to date on shots. Just want a loving caring home for her. She gets along with male dogs she and my girl min pin sometimes don't get along my girl min pin is older and Calli like to try and play with her and my min pin growls at her. She might be fine with a girl dog close to her size. So she can play.

Story
Ruby Doo is a Boxer/Heeler mix with a soft spirit and a whole lot of potential. She came to us a little unsure of the world, but every day she opens up more — offering shy tail wags, leaning in for gentle pets, and showing us the goofy, loving pup she’s becoming. Her Boxer side gives her that expressive face and tender heart, while her Heeler side brings the smarts and loyalty that make her such a rewarding companion. Ruby Doo will thrive with someone who understands that confidence grows with patience, routine, and love. She’s ready to bond deeply with her person — the kind of dog who will quietly follow you from room to room and blossom into your most devoted friend. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2711572##
