Hello there potential paw parents. My name is Spice and I am a purebred 4 year 8 month old female Shar Pei. I look a little different than most Shar Pei because I have what they call a bear coat. It's the longest of the three different types of Shar Pei coats and is somewhat rare. I am red/golden/orange/chestnut in color and weigh from 26 to 60 lbs. I came from a breeder situation to Golden Paws, and I am very timid with men. I do better with women though. I get along with other dogs, but I do need time to warm up to them. I really like the Hoomans that take care of me here; you know, the ones who feed me and see me on a daily basis. But, that's the way everyone is when they meet new people or go to new places to live, isn't it? Everyone just needs a little time to get used to things. If you're not familiar with Shar Pei,we started out in southern China about 2200 years ago. We were originally bred by peasants for herding, guarding and hunting. We're still noted for our loyalty and bravery. We are also noted for being devoted to our families. This makes us very good watchdogs. So, what do you say? I have been spayed, I've had all my shots, and I'm ready to go. Just fill out an application and come down to meet me. I really think that once you do, you're going to fall in love with me. Hello potential paw parents! My name is Faye, and I am an 8 year 6 month old female Shar Pei who is looking for her forever home and forever Hooman. I come from a breeder situation, and therefore, I am very timid with men. I do much better bonding with women. I get along fine with other dogs, but I will need a little time to warm up to them. I need a little time to warm up to people as well. The folks here have been working to socialize me and I am making progress. New places, new people; it all takes time I need a Hooman who will make the effort to socialize and train me. Once I am comfortable with you and get to know you, I will love your attention, believe me. If you are not familiar with Shar Pei, we are famous for our wrinkled skin, which served as our protection over 2200 years ago when we were trained to be guard dogs in China .Our temperament has been described as being affectionate, but reserved. I am a medium sized dog, which means 26 to 60lbs in size. My coat is red/golden/orange/and chestnut. So potential paw parents, why don't you fill out an application and come on in for a visit. Sweet Lovie. She has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma. Right now she is doing wonderful and doesn`t seem to be in any pain. We are hoping we can find a hospice home for her. The only thing Lovie doesn`t seem to like is cats. She gets along well with other dogs. If you are interested in giving this sweet girl a warm, safe & loving home in her final months please contact us for more information.

Bo was found as a stray by some very nice people. They took him to the vet & got him checked over. They also taught him to walk on a leash! He is crate trained & house trained. They brought him to us so we could find him the perfect home. He is very sweet, but also very active.
