Story
Meet Cherry, a lovable 5-year-old who is living proof that second chances are worth it! Once on the shelter`s kill list due to her emaciated condition and lack of space, Cherry has made a stunning recovery and is now a healthy 70-pound bundle of joy. Despite her size, she’s still a big puppy at heart, full of energy and affection.Cherry does great with other dogs, especially when introduced slowly, and she’s a fantastic companion who will always keep you smiling. While she’s a friendly and loving dog, she does have a strong instinct to chase smaller animals, so a cat-free home is a must.Cherry is housebroken, spayed, and up-to-date on all her vaccinations, making her ready to move into her forever home.If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, and devoted companion, Cherry might be the perfect match for you! Let her bring love, laughter, and a whole lot of happiness into your life. Will you be the one to give this amazing girl the loving home she truly deserves?Located in Houston, Texas. Transport to most states available for an additional fee of $300.

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 2/7/26 Meet Odin. This big boy is about 2 years old and weighs 60 lbs. He has been very good with the other dogs in his foster home and is not interested in tangling with the cats. His foster home doesn't include children but we believe he would do well with kids, since he loves all people. He is house trained. Don't miss out on this big sweet smoocher! We believe he is a Shar Pei mix. This poor boy has a very sad story...we won't get into all of the details but his first owner dragged him behind a truck because Odin wouldn't fight another dog. After that a man stepped in to take him before said owner killed him. The new owner didn't take the best care of him and ended up going to prison. He left him behind with people who decided Odin wasn't even worth feeding and just left him outside in a muddy mess. That is the story we were told, we take it with a grain of salt but we have no doubts it's mostly true. Anyway, Odin was taken in by a wonderful foster and is now ready for adoption. Despite his past, he is a very sweet guy who deserves the best home!    Odin is located in Arkansas. He can be adopted locally, but transport is available to the New England area as well. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them in PA, NY, or CT on Saturdays. To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 Message us or email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
