We got Yona as a puppy and have had him for about 2.5 years. We were told he is Shar pei however we do suspect that he is not pure bred and may have some black lab in him. Yona is a very sweet and loving dog. He is very high energy and do to very unfortunate issues I was not able to train him as he needed to be trained and with our current schedules I am unable to give him the attention he deserves. Yona deserves someone who can spend the time with him he needs. I will be willing to answer any questions you may have.

Big Papa is a black full bred 1.5 yo Shar Pei. His face looks intimidating but he has the kindest soul. He is shy in meeting new people but he gets accustomed quickly. He would make a great addition to an experienced family that is looking for a protective, low energy, intelligent and independent pup. He loves to lounge and take naps. He is a fast learner and would adapt to new trainings. Though Shar Pei’s tend to have some health issues due to wrinkly skin, Big Papa’s only health concern is being highly allergic to fleas. Big Papa is the sweetest boy and deserves a new home that can provide him devoted time and affection.

See I wasn’t socialized as a puppy and didn’t meet a lot of people or go to new places. Plus I’m part Shar Pei, so it’s in my nature to be a bit wary of strangers. I took a chance and trusted my foster mom and she’s been trying to help me learn that people aren’t all bad. It’s hard to change, but I’m really smart and working hard. My foster mom says that the real me is a sweet cuddle bug who loves my people intensely. I love other dogs and enjoy playing and wrestling. I like to chase balls, chew on bones and am highly treat motivated. I am crate trained and house trained and go to the door when I want to go out. I am a work in progress and have the capacity to be a really great companion for someone who is willing to give me the time to trust. I act super tough and scary sometimes, but it’s just a front, I’m a total marshmallow on the inside! Because of my energy and fear I would be best in an adult only home and am probably not the best fit for a first time dog owner. I would love to share a home with another dog who loves to play. Current Location: Sykesville, MD Meet Scully 💕 1 to 2 year-old, handsome, sweet guy. He's got a big heart and a happy-go-lucky attitude. He is a silly boy that loves to play with anyone or any thing that will play with him. Even though Scully is an adult dog he acts like a 50 lb puppy. So he will need an active family and maybe another dog to play with. He likes walks, is friendly to EVERYONE he meets, does well in public places, and love to play with toys. He is great in his crate and snores the night away inside. He is also crated during the day without issue. He has been a big brother to several puppies in his foster home and is always gentle with them. He even lets them win at tug o' war. We are working on him NOT jumping on people, and he can be very mouthy especially when excited. He will need consistency in training to stop these 2 behaviors. He would do best in a family with older children as he does not realize his size or strength. Hi my name is Mick. I am about a year old shar pei mix weighing in about 40lbs. I have not had a good upbringing. I was found on the side of the road eating deer carcass at a young age. I came up to my foster home when I was about 7 months old. I am a great protector. I am housetrained. I am working hard on crate training and ever since my bed and blanket have been put into the crate, I sleep in it all night with the door still open. I am working hard on leash training since I do pull a lot. Things that I love? Playing with my foster brother, sitting next to the heat, sticking my tongue out, my fenced in backyard to get out some of my puppy energy (although not neccessary), and food. I am very food motivated which is making training come pretty easy. I am super smart and adorable. I am looking for a very patient adopter who understands that it takes some time to trust humans. Once I warm up to you, I will be your best buddy! I need someone who is willing to continue all the things I am learning from my trainer. I also need a home with no young kids please. They make me nervous. Older kids that respect my space are ok. I would also love an active family. I can be with other dogs but need very slow introductions to them.
