Slowly walked out, and walked nicely next to me. We walked through the building and he was cautious passing people and would slow down a little. Sociability: Came over and allowed gentle pets and gave low swaying tail wags with ears to the side and soft eyes. Play: n/a Dog Interaction: Met Skittle. Color Level: Exp Gold Per staff 1/14: “Staff was attempting to take out to clean kennel. Finny retreated to the corner of the kennel sitting on the bed with tense eyes, ears forward and gave a paw lift. Staff tried to lasso but Finny was dodging. Did a shake off when the leash touched him. I tossed a treat in and he ate it. Handed the staff member some pepperoni and he was able to treat lure to leash.” Per staff 1/13: “Went out to take a picture and attempt to scan the dog. While in the car, he growled, had a stiff body, stared intensely, and bared his teeth at staff. We asked the finder to leash the dog inside the car because we observed how quickly the dog's behavior changed with the finder, he immediately started wagging his tail very fast, had a loose body, and soft eyes. The finder leashed the dog, and he exited the car without issue. The staff member was then able to walk the dog straight to a kennel” Per finder: “Temperamental with strangers. Friendly, shy, scared and playful.” Videos: Finney & Skittle meet: https://youtube.com/shorts/pkpG8TE_hxI?si=50s9nac8YB-GPMC3 ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. Story
Hello Shar-Pei lovers! Meet Manny!   Manny is a wonderful young pup with tons of potential and an even bigger personality. He’s about 90% potty trained, has mastered the doggie door, and plays fetch like an absolute pro. We’re working on his basic commands and he already knows outside, in, sit, and bed — smart boy!   Manny is full of energy and excitement, which sometimes means he jumps and does little playful nips when he gets overstimulated. Because of that, he’d do best in a home with older kids who can handle his enthusiasm while he continues to learn good manners.   If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, silly Shar-Pei mix to brighten your days, Manny is your guy! ##2541453##

Story
Meet Cherry, a lovable 5-year-old who is living proof that second chances are worth it! Once on the shelter`s kill list due to her emaciated condition and lack of space, Cherry has made a stunning recovery and is now a healthy 70-pound bundle of joy. Despite her size, she’s still a big puppy at heart, full of energy and affection.Cherry does great with other dogs, especially when introduced slowly, and she’s a fantastic companion who will always keep you smiling. While she’s a friendly and loving dog, she does have a strong instinct to chase smaller animals, so a cat-free home is a must.Cherry is housebroken, spayed, and up-to-date on all her vaccinations, making her ready to move into her forever home.If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, and devoted companion, Cherry might be the perfect match for you! Let her bring love, laughter, and a whole lot of happiness into your life. Will you be the one to give this amazing girl the loving home she truly deserves?Located in Houston, Texas. Story
Current Location: Hanover, PA Hello! My name is Skull Skull is a sweet guy, gentle by nature, but he doesn't know what a leash is or why someone would want to hold one. He is doing okay, at least on the outside. Inside, though, he has no idea what it means to be a pet, to be someone’s family. That kind of life is still a mystery to him, and he has so much to learn. He figured out the stairs quickly, as if solving small problems was something he’d always had to do on his own. He needs gentle training, yes—but more than that, he needs patience, love, and care he had never been given. His body is thin, his muscles untested, his curiosity almost aching as he noses into everything, trying to understand a world that is new. With all the love he never had, he still has so much love left to give. He would make a wonderful family member—if only someone would finally teach him what family means.

Story
Tank is a nearly 7-month-old pup (born May 29, 2025) who already weighs 53 lbs—and he’s just getting started. We believe he’s a Shar Pei / Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, and he’s expected to grow into a big, handsome guy around 80–90 lbs. For his size, Tank is actually pretty calm, but don’t be fooled—he’s still very much a puppy. Tank was surrendered by his owners by no fault of his own. He’s super sweet, affectionate, and social, but he’s also strong and a little mouthy, which means he’ll need a home committed to ongoing training, structure, and consistency. With his future size, good manners will be essential. Tank does well with other dogs, can be cat tested, and would be best with older children, as he may be a bit too much for the littlest family members. If you’re ready to invest time in training a big puppy who has all the potential to become an amazing adult dog, Tank is ready to grow up with you. Apply at lvpeaceablekingdom.info. Story
Jill came to ACCT Philly after she and another dog, Jack, were found running loose in the street. Thankfully, a caring community member was able to get both dogs to safety, and both dogs soon made their way into the care of ACCT Philly. Jill is now available for adoption at Doggie Style Pets in Bala Cynwyd and ready to meet her forever family! Jill is a social butterfly with a heart of gold. She's got the face and wrinkles of a shar pei and is on the smaller end at around 30lbs. She's highly people-oriented and shows her love freely with tail wags, gentle nudges, and an easygoing attitude. Jill walks well on leash, is tolerant of all body handling, and greets the world with soft eyes and a calm presence. In her interactions with other dogs, she’s shown polite curiosity—sniffing and then choosing to move on if she’s unsure. She’s a well-rounded, friendly pup who's easy to handle and eager to connect.
