Meet Butch, a 10-year-old, 66-pound Shar Pei who looks like he walked straight off the set of The Sandlot! With a head the size of a small planet and a personality to match, this boy is proof that age is just a number! Butch is young at heart and LOVES his squeaky toys. If it squeaks, he wants it. If it doesn't squeak, he'll probably judge you for your poor purchasing decisions. He's currently heartworm positive and receiving (easy one pill) treatment. He's also house-trained and crate-trained, which means he's already got some important life skills down! Now, let's discuss restraint. Butch would like to formally announce that restraint is a violation of his constitutional rights. Nail trims? An act of betrayal. Being held? Absolutely outrageous. Any attempt to limit his freedom will be met with a strongly worded complaint and the facial expression of a man who has just been told the squeaky toys are out of stock. Butch needs a family who understands his boundaries, respects his personal space, and is willing to work patiently with him. He's got opinions, and he's not afraid to share them! Underneath that giant head and grumpy-old-man charm is a boy looking for someone to love him exactly as he is. He doesn't care that he's 10. He's got toys to squeak, people to supervise, and a forever home to find. Because age is just a number, but Butch's head? That's a whole separate measurement system. Scrappy, about 50 lbs About me: My wrinkles may be minimal, but my heart is huge. I'm playful, affectionate, and always down to make new dog friends or join a game in the yard. But my real love language? Finding the coziest heated blanket in the house and melting into it like the snuggle champion I am. I'll happily switch between playmate and professional cuddle buddy — whatever you need. My résumé: House trained ✅ Know sit, lay down, stay, and leave it ✅ Great with kids ✅ Self-appointed security guard — I take 'protect and serve' seriously and have been known to hop the child gate to greet visitors myself, especially new ones. (The gardeners are still on my watch list, sorry not sorry.) A few honest quirks, because I believe in full transparency on the first date: I pull a little on the leash (working on it). Car rides aren't my favorite — I'll whine the whole way, but I'm otherwise a good passenger. Thunderstorms make me nervous. Baths make me an Olympic sprinter, so we've switched to waterless ones. I can be crated, but I don't really enjoy it and tend to rub my nose. Lately I've just been hanging out loose on dog beds in the living room (and sneaking onto the big bed at night — don't tell). Looking for: Someone who'll keep a close eye on me (I'll be doing the same for you), doesn't mind a co-pilot who narrates every car ride, and has unlimited compliments about how handsome I am. Bonus points for belly rubs.
