Story
Hello, my name is Capri and here is a little info about me:Breed: Shar Pei mixAge: 10 months oldGender: female, spayedWeight: 30 lbsHeight: 14 in Capri was rescued from a high kill shelter near LA. She was running out of time when she got rescued. Her foster mom in Califoria can't stop saying wonderful thing about her. If you are looking for a "good girl", Capri is the one for you! She is fully house trained but might need some help in a new home. She is still a puppy and will need some training. She has some puppy energy to burn, and she is pretty active. Capri is cute, charming and easy going. She gets along well with people, other dogs and cats. She enjoys going for walks or play with other dogs or her toys. Capri likes the company of other dogs so another dog in the home will be good but not necessary. She is equally happy as a solo dog. She is looking for her forever home and can travel to Vancouver very soon if she has an adopter. Please adopt her!  Energy Level: High I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: YesKids: Unknown Prey drive: unknown/not observed. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. Fears: unknown/none observed. Training: basicLeash skills:  Please be prepared to train me.House trained: Yes I have been vaccinated, spayed and microchipped. My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if the dog is shown to be good with children we will approve homes with children 8 years or older. Animaldefense Rescue.org [ADR.org] will have six puppies – end of May. MEET GIANNA- female DNA of the puppy is 50% Shar-Pei, followed by Chow, German Shepherd and Akita making up the other 50%. All puppies posted were born to FLUFFY (also posted) on 2/28. They are now (week of April 29) 9 weeks old. All puppies are still in a foster home in CA but are transported WA and then picked up my founder of ADR.org to bring home to Orcas Island, WA. ETA end of May. All puppies have a wonderful personality, are thriving and putting weight on (weight is around 10-12 lbs. now). There are more females than male puppies- see individual postings. To start the adoption process, it will be necessary for you to fill out the proper ADR.org application. Please send us an email to ADR@animaldefenserescue.org so that ADR.org has your email address to send you an application. Puppies will be fully vaccinated for Distemper and Parvo and have microchips by the time they are going in an adoption home. They will not be altered though, as they are too young at that point. Interested parties who have already raised a puppy and are not absent from home most of the day are preferred as the first months of puppyhood are crucial to make the puppy a sociable, potty trained, and balanced dog. ADR.org looks forward to hearing from you.
