Story
Hi, I’m Loki. I am a one year old, cream colored Lab/Shar Pei mix, around 50 lbs. I prefer hanging with adults, so I’d be a better fit in a house without little kids. I’m a bit of a leaner … okay maybe I’m a huge leaner but I love to cuddle when you pat me. I like playing with other pups, and I really like the ladies (wink, wink). I have medium energy, so it would be great if my new family has a yard. I’m working on my manners, house and crate training. My foster mom thinks I’m really smart. I already know how to walk on a leash and LOVE car rides. Are you looking for that very special boy to join your family? I’m right here and can’t wait to meet you. *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other s tates to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kennelled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Adoption fee includes transportation costs, previous/current medical treatment (spay/neuter, etc.) and a health certificate for cross-state travel*

Spot here! Its been a few days in my "foster" home, whatever that means‍♂️. Im just here to be the cutest and eat all the treats I think I've got the routine down, the lady stopped repeating "outside" to me as often and the crate isn't as intimidating as I originally thought. I've come around to napping in it but still prefer to snuggle with people or the resident dogs when available. Apply today and watch me grow into the most handsome little guy!August 16, 2026, 7:39 pm

Story
Meet Mae Mae was rescued during a pretty nasty storm in Chicago, looks like she had puppies at some point too. Her exact age and breed are a mystery, but our best guess is 1–2 years old and possibly a Mastiff/Shar-Pei mix. It also appears this sweet girl had puppies at some point in her young life, although none were found with her when she was rescued. She's got the head that looks like it should belong to a 100-pound dog, a nose that always looks like it was stung by bees (don't worry—it wasn't!), and the personality of an oversized toddler. Mae loves her people and hands out kisses freely. She gets very mouthy when she's excited, but it's all playful puppy behavior—not aggression. She has done well with other dogs but says no thanks to cats and birds. She absolutely adores kids... maybe a little too much. She may accidentally knock them over to bring them down to kissing level, so we'd recommend older children—unless your younger ones have previous chew toy experience. Mae rides beautifully in the car, is learning leash manners, and kennels well. Just don't leave food on the counter unless you were planning on sharing. The shelter volunteer described her perfectly: 'Klutzy with a developing brain.' She trips over her own feet, and the first time she was invited onto the couch, she got so excited for belly rubs that she rolled right off... then barked at the couch like it was its fault. If you're looking for a perfectly polished dog, keep scrolling. If you're looking for a goofy, lovable best friend who will make you laugh every single day, Mae is waiting to meet you. ❤️August 16, 2026, 7:39 pm

Story
Hi! Meet Peter. I adopted him from a Humane Society in Florida (where I previously lived) because no one else would due to his medical problems at the time (heartworms). He has since been fully treated and is completely healthy and energetic. Unfortunately, I do not have the time to take care of him. I changed jobs and states recently and the new job came with a very heavy schedule. Also, I will be re-enlisting in the Army Reserves soon and the training schedule that imposes on me will make it incredibly difficult to take care of him.Peter is very energetic, playfully, and happy and not aggressive in the slightest. He loves playing with his MANY toys, enjoys sleeping in his crate or in a bed with me, and is very well house trained. I've been forced to leave him home for 12+ hours multiple times and came home to no accidents whatsoever. If you want a happy, playful, fun-loving dog, this guy is the one for you!PS: He LOVES fetch
