Hi All! My name is Bella and I'm officially available for adoption! I became an Underdog when my special human went into hospice care. I am a sweet girl, that loves to give kisses. I am the perfect mix of play and lazy. A quick game of tug or fetch followed by a nap is how I prefer to spend my days. (On repeat) I would do best in a house with older children, as I am a bigger girl and sometimes I forget that I am so strong. Confident dogs are the best playmates for me because sometimes I need reminders to settle down. I have lived with cats my whole life and I am very respectful of them. And the best part about me?! Buck is a handsome 1 year old mixed breed male. He weighs about 48 pounds. Buck has had the most difficut start to life, but he doesn't let that get him down! Buck was found abandoned in rural Texas, with severe facial wounds and a long chain still dragging from his too tight collar. Despite the mistreatment he received at the hands of the awful human who did that to him, Buck adores people of all ages and is so sweet! He loves to play with squeaky toys, something he probably has never had before! Despite his amazing personality, Buck found himself in the top spot on the euthanization list at the shelter as he had been there for months without getting adopted and the shelter was again full. We knew that Buck deserved a chance to see how good life can be, and are thrilled to be welcoming him to WI on May 3rd! He will never have to worry about mistreatment again. Buck has been working hard on potty training, but heing that he is in a shelter setting until his arrival, his new family should be prepared for a few accidents while he learns the routine at his new home in WI. He is neutered, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines, dewormed and microchipped, and he comes with his medical records and interstate health certificate from a veterinary examination prior to leaving Texas, which certifies him to be in good condition. His adoption fee is $500, which will be used to support the many animals in our care whose medical bills far surpass their much lower adoption fee. He is available for an exclusive hold with a deposit of $250, which we give on a first come, first served, basis. The balance of the adoption fee is due upon meeting/finalizing the adoption. Should you find that he is not a good fit for your family upon meeting, the deposit is refundable. Bio: Sweet and friendly as cinnamon and sugar, with a bit of spice. Cinnamon is one of two sisters who arrived from Texas yesterday. She is definitely the more outgoing and friendly one. She is the first to greet you and the first to initiate play. She hops up on foster dad's lap looking to be pet. She is working on not jumping up on people to greet them. The first night went better than expected, and she was quiet in her kennel all night. Cinnamon likes to go outside to run off her energy and is learning that is the place to go potty, too. About Me: Name: Winston Breed (or best guess): Mixed - maybe Shar Pei - Cocker Approximate Age: 2-3 yrs Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 25 lb Adoption Fee: $450 Requirements: willingness to deal with skin allergies Why In Rescue: Owner Surrender Profile:  Winston was surrendered by his owner when she was no longer able to give him what he needed.  Winston is a great guy.  He loves attention and to go for walks.  He has been good with the other dogs he has met.  He is good for car rides.  He is a super loving and happy guy. The other thing possible adopters need to know about him is that Winston has allergies.  He is currently being treated with Cytopoint and Apoquel as well as routine baths.  Since starting that, his skin is looking great and no more itching.  We did do allergy testing, and mostly he is allergic to dust mites and cats.  If his adopters would like we have information on getting him specific treatments against those allergies we have the needed information, or just continue with the medication as needed.  He may also be sensitive to some foods, we keep him on a venison/sweet potato diet that he seems to do well with.  Without medication, Winston becomes very itchy and will scratch himself raw, so it is important his adopter is willing to continue with any needed medication/treatment so he doesn't suffer.   Everyone who meets Winston loves him.  He is in a foster home and doing great, but now he wants his forever home!
