This beautiful Standard Poodle weighs approximately 45 pounds and is estimated to be around 2–3 years old. Georgette’s story is heartbreaking. It appears she was likely used for breeding before wandering into someone’s yard in south San Antonio, desperately seeking help. When we rescued her, she was filthy, covered in fleas, and so severely matted that her coat was down to the skin. She had also recently given birth. According to the homeowner who found her, her puppies sadly did not survive. Despite everything she has endured, Georgette’s gentle spirit remains intact. Georgette is incredibly smart, eager to please, loves her treats, and above all, simply wants to be close to her person. She has a quiet, soulful way about her—as though she carries the weight of abandonment but still chooses love. When you’re with her, she stays close, looking at you as if you are the only person in the world. She is truly a gentle, beautiful soul who could likely thrive in many family settings, including homes with children or other dogs. But if Georgette could choose for herself, it seems her greatest wish is simply to have someone of her own to love and trust. She is ready for the safe, loving home she has always deserved.
