This beautiful girl, Marigold needs a foster/adopter or even a rescue to help her!!! She was saved from going to the shelter with her twin sister when their owner died, but has had to be in boarding for months and she needs a RESCUE to HELP place her or AN ADOPTIVE or FOSTER HOME! She is fixed, have all vaccinations and is ready to be adopted, but NO adopters are coming forward for Marigold! Her sister Poppy was adopted and now she is in BOARDING w/o her sister and has been there for months!! 😢 She is small, 45lbs sheltie/GSD mix, good with dogs, cats and kids. Perfect little girl in need of an adoptive home or even a rescue that will take her on for placement so she can get out of boarding! Meet Cookie! She is a 1 year old that was rescued off a chain before heading to a dog meat farm in South Korea.  We have partners we work with there that pull these dogs from the worst horrors imaginable.  Many of these dogs start off in horrific puppy mill type facilities on tiny rabbit cage size wire crates in complete filth.  If they are not sold at 6 or 8 weeks then they either stay for a couple years to be used to breed more and then are sold off to the meat trade, or they are sold off right away.  Jindo's and Tosa's are the most common meat type dogs, and are very commonly bred specifically for their meat and the meat farms also act as breeding farms until they reach a good age and weight. South Korea is one of the only countries that actually farms dogs for their meat.   Many restaurants will serve a dish called " bosintang ", which stands for "dog meat soup". It's a popular dish in South  Korea,  and is said to act as an aphrodisiac for men.    Little dogs are used for elixirs and potions.  The younger generation is mostly against this practice and many choose to not eat them, and we can only hope in time with education and generations of change that an end will come to this horrific trade.  Cookie and some of her family and friends have been flown here for a chance at a future and a real life.  These are miracle dogs that they are alive today.  Our adoption fee is $600 which helps offset some of the flight costs.  If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application form at  https://form.jotform.com/oscarlucy/dog-adoption-app September 29, 2023, 12:29 am

Bram is a buoyant, bouncy, energetic personality, an ebullient, intelligent, joyous boy. He is not breed standard, is slightly larger, and is the rougher coat variety--not accepted in the show ring (we don't care :o). Bram is not a candidate for a jogging or hiking partner or a two story home with long staircases, as his legs are simply too short. Bram is house-trained, non-destructive, neutered, micro-chipped, de-wormed, all vaccinations; med records current. He is only adoptable to homes in the Southern California area. UPDATE: For now Bram is sponsorship only. He has been undergoing therapy treatments for his back, and uses a cart and a walkabout harness for his rear-end so that hopefully the muscles can be strengthened and he can walk again. Multiple docs have checked me out and said I get around fine and need to stay trim and on good food and supplements to keep me in shape but besides that I am a happy and healthy dude!
