Story
Blizzard is a beautiful 13 month old female Sheltie. She is a double merle, which means she is deaf and partially blind. Despite that, she is a playful and sweet dog who loves to explore and have fun. She is good with other dogs and loves to play with her foster siblings. She also loves getting lots of lap time and attention from her foster parents. Blizzard is very vocal and has lots of opinions to share! She is still learning puppy manners and her play can be a little mouthy, but she's learning. She is pretty much housebroken but still will have an occasional accident. Her perfect home will have another playful dog who can match her feisty and fun personality. She must have a securely fenced yard (required) for safety, and a home where someone is around most of the day to give her all the love and attention she deserves. No children under 12. If you think you could give Blizzard the perfect home, visit our website at www.ncsr-md.org to submit an application. Blizzard is being fostered in Kearneysville, WV. A home visit and application are required before a meet and greet. Our application can be found at our website www.ncsr-md.org. A free virtual training session to get her new owner started by Deb Bauer of "Your Inner Dog" is included with her adoption fee.

Story
This handsome devil is Baxter. He is 4 years old and 27 lbs. Baxter is an active boy, he loves to play fetch, run around the fenced yard barking and chasing whatever he sees. He loves playing with toys as well. He is good with other dogs and enjoys running with them. He would enjoy long walks/hikes and likely would do well with dog sports. Baxter is shy at first but will come around with love and patience. He is partial to women but responds to a kind and gentle man. Obedience classes or an owner with training experience would benefit him by giving him a bonding tool with his adopter and helping him build confidence. Baxter is neutered, UTD on all vaccines, microchipped, house trained, crate trained, walks pretty good on a leash and knows some basic commands. He requires a fully fenced yard and no children under 12. We feel he would do best in a quieter home without a lot of people coming and going. Baxter will be placed in an age and energy level appropriate home. He is being fostered in Kearneysville, WV. An application and home visit are required before a meet and greet. Our application can be found on our website www.ncsr-md.org

Please contact Denise at 610-656-1291 (Fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.  This dog is located in New Castle, DE. Visit us on the web at https://fur-everpaws.com/fur-ever-paws-adoption-application/ to submit an application. Please contact the foster directly at 610-656-1291 (text or call) or via email at fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters. &#226&#128&#139 January 15, 2026, 1:09 pm
