Story
Wintermint is a gentle, shy boy with a soft heart who is building his confidence in the world around him. He may be reserved when meeting new people, but with patience and kindness, he opens up more each day. Once he feels safe, his sweet personality comes through—especially in the form of soft little kisses. He’s currently working on both crate training and potty training and is making progress. Wintermint will thrive in a home that understands he needs time to settle in and is willing to go at his pace. He does wonderfully with other dogs and truly benefits from their presence, often taking cues from his canine companions. It would be beneficial for him to have another dog in his furever home. He’s begun walking on a leash in quiet areas, though loud noises and new experiences can still make him nervous, so continued gentle exposure will help build his confidence. Wintermint is going to grow into a truly handsome and devoted companion. He just needs a patient, understanding home to help him blossom into the dog he’s meant to be. Wintermint is fostered in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania and is ready to join a family! www.mostlymuttz.org Link to Wintermint’s bio: https://www.wagtopia.com/search/pet?id=2676422&name=Wintermint #mostlymuttzrescue #adoptabledogs #adoptme ##2676422##

Story
ABBEY MAE came to us when her owner had to go into assisted living. She is the sweetest, sweetest dog! Always happy to meet new people! Abbey is good with other dogs. She is coexisting with kitty cats right now but will chase them. Abbey is a bit of a chunk muffin and she’s on a weight loss diet prior to her spay on 4/14/26. Abbey has been vaccinated and will have pre-op blood panel run prior to surgery. Also 4DX and microchip. Currently 70 lbs and 8 years old. We are not sure her breed mix. She looks to be some sort of hound, maybe beagle and possibly a herding type dog like a Collie. Abbey will officially be available for adoption by the end of April but we are accepting applications now. Please fill out an application at www.companimals.org if you’re interested in adding this sweet girl to your family! Adoption $250.March 12, 2026, 9:50 am

Story
Monty is a great name for a great dog like me ;) I have the Monty Python kind of humor... goofy and sweet! But, don't mess with my crate! That really is my only "pet: peeve!! I was found on the streets 2 years ago and was adopted as a pup... however, I became the boss in the house and didn't like anyone entering the house that I didn't know :( SO..... Back to the rescue, because they won't give up on me!! So here I am and I have really adjusted to the environment and new people meeting me and treats and lots of love. AND the crew here basically has determined that I need a family/adopters that will be in charge of the house. Someone I can trust to protect me so I don't have to!! I am vocal in my crate, so my crate needs to be away from the common areas so I can relax and not meet everyone that stops by. Once I settle into my new home I will follow your lead! I am a gorgeous boy, with caramel and milk chocolate highlights in my soft fur. I want to please my family and go on all kinds of adventures! I am awesome out and about, meeting new people and new friends :D I hope you will look into my eyes, the windows to my soul, and see the HOPE I have to find my own home again! The rescue is great because I got a second chance, but I REALLY want a home!! Local adoption only $200 (in TX)

Story
Please contact Darlene at 302-312-5129 (fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.  This dog is located in Newark, DE. Visit us on the web at https://fur-everpaws.com/fur-ever-paws-adoption-application/ to submit an application. Please contact the foster directly at 302-312-5129 (text or call) or via email at fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters. June 12, 2026, 5:40 pm

Story
This friend has just arrived to us on transport from a high-intake shelter partner! When our friends are new to us, we are often unsure of their full background. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and update their bio with more information as we learn. They are pending interactions with animals until they have been cleared by our vet. Please note that we often are unsure of house, crate, car, and leash training status upon arrival. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
Tessie is a one-year-old Blue Heeler with a big heart packed into a petite 20-lb body. Like many Heelers, she forms a deep bond with her person and loves being close — she’s the ultimate little “Velcro dog.” Her favorite things include outdoor adventures, chew toys, exploring the yard, and then settling in for a cozy couch nap with her favorite human. Tessie is incredibly smart and will quickly learn a new routine, but she’ll do best with a patient adopter who will give her a little time and space to settle into her new home. Once she trusts you, her loyalty is unmatched. She also takes her job as yard supervisor very seriously and has the cutest little sassy strut when she’s feeling happy. While she prefers being out and about with her people, she can stay in a crate when needed. Tessie would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a devoted, intelligent dog who will be by their side through life’s adventures. ❤️ If you think Tessie might be the perfect match for you, please apply at straynetwork.org #adoptdontshop
