Little Dusty was a last-minute life-save and DASH is so happy to have helped him! Several volunteers from Ft Worth Animal Care really teamed up so this ADORABLE basenji mix has a foster! He and Pixie look Basenji and are both petite and sleek. When I was trying to determine a possible hybrid I was shocked but happy to learn about: The BaSheltie! Several sites had twins of Dusty! Dusty has been in a great foster home since his rescue. He’s awaiting a neuter appt this week but we have that covered! He is healthy, happy and hopeful to get a HOME! His foster family says he is “super dog friendly.” He is potty-trained and crate-trainer although he doesn’t love the crate. Dusty had mild separation anxiety at first which is normal; it’s much better when he is with his foster-fur friends so we hope to find a home with 1-2 playful young dogs. Dusty loves human attention and cannot get enough so expect a cuddly companion. He’s a balanced, bright and solid pet dog so wherever he was before that’s the past. Are you his future? Our philosophy is to rescue highly adoptable dogs, have them live kennel-free in private homes for temperament assessments and individual personalities. We work hard to match EACH dog with the right family - kids or no kids, other dogs male or female and/or cats. With very rare exceptions all dogs over 6 months will be spayed or neutered PRIOR to adoption - dogs under 6 months will include a spay/neuter date AND referral info for lower-cost surgery if the adopter does not choose to use her or his personal vet.
