Story
Sophie is a sweet, well-mannered 7-year-old who loves running, playing, and going on adventures. She is dog-friendly, listens well, and travels easily in the car. While she requires daily medication for allergies, she takes it without issue and does not need to be crated. She would thrive in a home where her people are present most of the time.

Story
Sassy is a 6 month old 23 pound collie/shep mix (best guess!) who was found abandoned in a shopping center, following shoppers around looking for help. We suspect she may have been living in a nearby a homeless encampment.    She has small, delicate feet, so we do not expect her to grow very large. She is really not sassy at all but a very sweet, calm, and cuddly puppy who enjoys toys, chew bones, her little blue squeaky bird, naps, and playing with the other dogs in her foster home. She is respectful of grumpy dogs and takes social cues well. She also does great with the family cat and is non-reactive around her.   She sleeps through the night and is making good progress with house training — currently about 95% house trained. She will happily go in the crate for meals and can be left alone with the other dogs in the home without getting into trouble.    Overall, Sassy is a gentle, loving puppy looking for a patient family to help her continue building confidence and learning what it means to be a beloved family dog. She loves playing in the back yard and watching the squirrels and birds!  Sassy needs the following in her new home:  1. Owner home more than not. 2. Another playful dog to mentor 3. Home with fenced yard To meet Sassy in person visit us at www.dsda.org/adopt and submit our online adoption application.  ADOPTION FEE Covers: Core vaccines plus Lepto and Flu, all boosters, microchip, dewormer until clear fecal test & spay or neuter when completed by a DSDA vet partner plus any necessary medical care.  All dogs are on flea, tick and heartworm prevention and you receive the following month's preventatives complementary with your adoption!  * Adoption Fees: Puppies (12 months and under) - $325  Dogs (over 12 months) - $275  Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs.  Must be home more than not. Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions.  Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household. Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. Must have a secure fence if in a house. All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard.  DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas. ##2738458##

Story
Milo is a young adult pup who truly has it all—he’s smart, loving, and ready to find his forever family! He absolutely adores other dogs and kids, and has a sweet, gentle personality that makes him a wonderful companion for a family home. Milo already has great manners and knows commands like “sit” and “go lay down.” He’s also doggie door trained, making daily life that much easier. On walks, Milo does well on a leash, though he can get a little excited and bark when he sees other dogs—he just gets happy to see them! The best part is, he shows no aggression and responds well to correction, even backing off appropriately when another dog sets a boundary. Milo loves to play—fetch is one of his favorite games, and he’ll happily bring the ball back every time. At home, he’s a dream companion: Sleeps through the night (and would love to share the bed!) Only chews on his toys and chew bones Gets excited to greet you but settles down quickly He’s also a polite eater, never rushing his meals and sometimes even leaving a little behind. Milo understands boundaries and will stay when asked most of the time, showing just how smart and eager he is to please. He’s the kind of dog who will continue to thrive with love and a little guidance. Why you’ll love Milo: Great with kids and other dogs Well-trained and well-mannered Playful and fun (hello, fetch!) Non-aggressive and respectful with other dogs Smart, loving, and eager to please Milo’s Ideal Home Milo would thrive in a home where he receives plenty of love, playtime, and continued guidance. He would do great with kids and has a sweet, social personality. A home with another dog is strongly preferred for Milo. He absolutely loves being around other dogs and truly thrives when he has a canine companion to play with and keep him company. Because of this, we are specifically looking for a family that already has a friendly dog in the home, as we believe Milo will be happiest and most successful with a built-in playmate. Milo is ready to bring joy, companionship, and lots of tail wags into your life. Could he be your perfect match?
