He’s leash trained and already knows “sit,” which makes him a wonderful walking buddy and a great foundation for continued training. Bear is food motivated, so he’s eager to learn and responds well to positive reinforcement — bring the treats and he’ll bring the focus! Bear can be dog selective and prefers slow, thoughtful introductions to new canine friends. He may do best as the only dog in the home or with a compatible match. He also has some resource guarding tendencies, so he’ll thrive with a confident, experienced owner who can provide clear structure and boundaries. Because of this, he’s best suited for a home with dog-savvy teens 13+ who understand how to respectfully interact with him. With the right guidance, Bear is a loyal, smart companion who will bond deeply with his people. Meet Mabel 💛 Mabel is a gentle, tender-hearted girl who is blossoming more every single day. While she can be timid at first, once she feels safe, she transforms into an affectionate, devoted companion who wants nothing more than to be near her person (preferably with a tummy rub involved!). Mabel forms strong bonds and looks to her human as her “safe base.” She’s incredibly attuned and checks in often, especially in new environments. Though naturally cautious, she has shown wonderful progress with the guidance of her amazing foster family, meeting new people, visiting friends’ homes, and even navigating lively gatherings with calm curiosity. When given space to observe and adjust, she settles beautifully. She’s a dream on leash and she enjoys walks and trail outings, but knows how to settle nicely at home. She rides well in the car and now happily jumps in on her own. With other dogs, she’s begun initiating playful moments, always returning to her person for reassurance. She’s also met cats and squirrels with curiosity but no reactivity, so she may be able to live with dog-savvy cats. At home, Mabel prefers a cozy dog bed near her humans rather than a crate, where she can observe household activity. She communicates subtly (e.g. standing by the door when she needs to go out) and isn't a barker or whiner. She isn’t treat-motivated, but she responds great to praise and affection. Because she bonds deeply, Mabel would do best with an adopter who is home often or willing to help her continue building confidence when alone. She has shown some anxiety when left for longer periods, but with patience and reassurance, she continues to grow more secure each day.
