This beautiful little nugget is Melody, and she is one fun-loving, smart, affectionate girl! If you’re looking for an active companion who will keep you laughing, moving, and on your toes, Melody may be your girl.
Melody is a fun energetic girl , incredibly people-oriented, and happiest when she is with her person. She would love nothing more than to spend her days playing in a secure yard, exploring trails, going for walks or runs, and learning new things. She absolutely loves treats and would likely have a blast with scent games, hide-and-seek, and other fun activities that keep her brilliant mind busy.
Melody does best with teenagers 16 and older and would thrive with someone who enjoys an active lifestyle and is willing to continue her training. She can be an exuberant little jumping bean and sometimes gets overly excited, which can include jumping and grabbing at clothing or giving a quick little nip. We have been working with her, and she is a good listener who responds well to consistent correction, hand signals, and voice commands. With patience, structure, exercise, and positive reinforcement, Melody is eager to please and ready to keep learning.
Melody is best suited to being the only dog in the home. She is a very enthusiastic player and is not a dog-park kind of girl. She should also go to a home without cats .
Because Melody is incredibly smart and determined, she will need a tall, secure fence. She has discovered that doors and fences can sometimes be puzzles to solve! Her goal isn't to run away—she simply wants to be wherever her people are. With supervision, consistency, and exercise, these behaviors can be successfully managed.
Think of Melody as a big, Labrador personality packed into a wonderfully compact body! She is a go-getter, a cuddle bug, a playmate, and a girl who wants to be part of your life.
Her adoption includes a 20-day get-acquainted period to give everyone time to adjust and make sure she is the right match.
