I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog D:7Okra is a 1-year-old, 59-pound poodle mix with a personality that shines. She’s smart, gentle, affectionate, energetic, and absolutely irresistible. With her floppy ears and adorable face, she oozes total doodly charm! She knows basic cues like sit and paw, takes treats gently, and loves squeaky toys almost as much as she loves cuddles. Okra walks beautifully on leash, though she may bark at other dogs. She can be a little nervous around them, and is still learning how best to interact. She might thrive as a solo pup, or perhaps with a well-matched canine friend.  This sweet girl is full of fun and love. Story
Boomer is glad to see you! We don't want to give him up, however the wife's health is no longer up to the task. He's a very happy dog. He's 2 years old we've had him his whole life. He's very loving and cuddly. Still needs hard toys as opposed to anything soft to chew on cuz he just rips soft toys to shreds. He's good with other animals. For example my son's chinchilla and has stayed at my brother's with their dog and cats. He knows how to smell instead of lick something. House trained. Loves walks and hikes. Very well trained for 2 years old. He's a good boy. I hope you can be a good parent to him.

Meet Polar! 🐾❄️ Polar, the miniature polar bear, is a playful, active, smart little guy. In just the three days we have been together he is already learning sit, and seems enthusiastic to learn more commands, as he is highly treat motivated. He starts his day going outside to do his potty business and then laying in a doggie bed at my feet while I do my work from home. But don’t let his slow start fool you, as he is all about play. He loves his toys and will retrieve them as many times as you can throw them. He loves to go on walks and greets other dogs and people with excitement and appropriate sniffs. He sometimes gets a little mouthy with play, so probably best with kids 10 and up. He corrects well, and with a little structure and consistency will be a great fun-loving, well-mannered addition to a household. When he does settle in for lap time you are rewarded with the silkiest fur that immediately lowers your heart rate. He does not shed, and will let me give him a good brushing to keep that silky coat in tip-top shape (so he will need consistent grooming). He has really good recall when playing in the yard and it is time to check in or come into the house. Do you currently have a playful dog that would enjoy the company of another playful companion, or do you have time to become his favorite playmate, then apply to make this tiny bear the new fun member of your household.

Missy is one of two dogs that were abandoned in a taxi cab and then dropped off at Jelly's Place. She is initially shy and guarded, but once you gain her trust she can't get enough of you. Missy loves cuddles, being next to her person, and playing with her ball. She is house & crate trained, and is working on leash walking. She must be kept on a leash if out in an unfenced area. She is not fond of people in general and will need some work on that. she gets along with other small dogs given time. Missy will be spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated as part of the adoption process. If interested in meeting this sweet girl, please complete an application at www.jellysplace.org. Note: Missy is in a foster home so is available to meet by appointment only.
