Story
Corky ❤️ A Sweet Boy Just Waiting to Feel Safe Corky is a handsome little poodle mix, who is about a year old and weighing 53 pounds, has been through a pretty big change in his young life. Corky and his brothers were left behind at a cabin when the renter moved away. For these dogs, that cabin and the life they knew was their entire world — and suddenly, everything familiar was gone. The man who raised them just disappeared and abandoned them. Because of that, Corky is understandably very shy when he is in a new or unfamiliar situation. New places, new people, and especially busy environments can be overwhelming for him here in his first week of being away from the original place he was born. If you take the time to slow down and let Corky figure things out at his own pace, you begin to see a completely different dog. Once Corky honestly settles in and realizes he is safe, he is an incredibly sweet boy. When we met him in a setting where he felt more comfortable, he was friendly and gentle. The shy behavior we see in unfamiliar places isn't who Corky is at his heart — it's simply how he copes when he isn't sure what is happening around him. Corky has lived with other dogs, including his dad and brothers, and seems comfortable having canine companionship around him. He enjoyed being outside and having the familiar routine of his previous life. We think another confident, friendly dog could potentially be a wonderful companion for him as he learns to trust and experience new things. Please don't let his initial shyness fool you — this boy is smart! Corky is very trainable and has so much potential. With patience, consistency, positive reinforcement, and someone willing to celebrate the little victories, we believe his confidence will continue to grow. He may need a little extra time in the beginning, but every step forward will be worth it.   At the vet, Corky is especially shy and overwhelmed, which isn't surprising given everything that is new to him. But when he is somewhere he feels comfortable, we see that sweet personality starting to emerge. He just needs someone who understands that trust isn't built overnight.   Corky will do best with an adopter who is willing to support him on his journey rather than expect him to immediately be the confident, outgoing dog he may eventually become. He needs someone patient and kind, someone who will give him a safe place to decompress, a predictable routine, and plenty of encouragement. There is something especially rewarding about watching a shy dog realize that he is finally home. We believe Corky has the potential to become a wonderful, loving companion once he has the security and stability he has been missing. He didn't choose to be left behind. He didn't choose to have his whole world change. But with the right person beside him, Corky can learn that the next chapter of his life can be so much better than the first.    Corky is looking for someone who will give him the time, patience, and love he needs to blossom. In return, we think he will give you something pretty special — the joy of watching a sweet, smart little dog finally discover that he is safe, loved, and home.  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in being the lifechanging person and family in Corky's life. Story
Ruger — A Sweet Boy Discovering How Wonderful Home Can Be   Ruger is a 40 pound, one-year-old Poodle mix whose life didn’t get the easiest start. He was abandoned along with his brothers and their dad when a tenant left them behind at a cabin in the woods. Like his brothers, Ruger spent his early life outside with very little experience of the world beyond what he knew.   Because of that, adopters should expect Ruger to be a little shy and sensitive at first. Moving into a new home, meeting new people and learning a whole new routine is a big change for a boy who hasn’t always had the chance to experience the world in a safe and secure way. He may need a little time to settle in and figure out that this new life really is his.   But once Ruger gets comfortable, you get to see what a truly sweet boy he is. ❤️ He has been living in a house now and is doing wonderfully. He has discovered some of the very best things about being an indoor dog—especially finding a soft place to curl up and getting comfy on the bed!   Ruger is a loving, happy and smart little guy who is eager to learn and be part of his family. He may be sensitive, but underneath that initial shyness is a sweet boy who wants to trust, wants to please and wants to be loved.   He doesn't need someone to expect him to walk into a new home and immediately act like he has lived there forever. He just needs someone who will give him a little patience while he adjusts, reassure him that he is safe, and let his personality come out at his own pace.   Once Ruger settles in, expect a happy, affectionate, smart little companion who is ready to enjoy all the things he should have had from the beginning—soft beds, loving people, a safe home and a family of his own.   Ruger has already come so far. Now he just needs someone willing to give him the time and love to take that final step into his forever home. ❤️ Few are interested in making Rugers dream family become  your family , please email Critter Cavalry Rescue atccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.October 1, 2026, 8:05 pm

Story
Meet Ginny Lynn — a sweet little girl who is still learning that being someone’s dog is a pretty wonderful thing. ❤️   Ginny Lynn is a 45 pound, one-year-old Poodle mix who, along with her 2 brothers, was abandoned when a tenant left them and her grey Poodle dad,  behind at a cabin in the woods. They were actually all 4 left in crates and had to wait to be discovered and rescued many days later. They had known both indoor and outdoor life before that, but suddenly being left behind like that was a pretty confusing and scary experience for these pups.   So, it’s no surprise that Ginny can be a little sensitive when everything around her is new. She may not be the one who marches through the door on day one like she owns the place. She’s more of a “let me look around, figure this out and make sure everything is okay” kind of girl.   And honestly, once she decides everything really is okay, she is pretty amazing and  sweet.   She has been living in a house now and is doing well. She is discovering the joys of being comfortable, having a soft place to curl up and getting to spend his days around people. She’s learning that a house isn’t something to be unsure of—it’s where the good stuff happens.   Ginny Lynn is smart, loving and eager to learn. She just needs someone who understands that confidence doesn't always happen overnight. Give her a little patience, a predictable routine and some kindness, and you’ll get to watch this sweet girl come out of her shell.   Once she settles in, expect a happy little companion who wants to be part of things. She has a gentle nature and a sweetness about her that makes you want to reassure her that she has finally landed somewhere good.   And maybe that's what Ginny needs most—not anything fancy, not a perfect home, just a person who will let her take a breath, get comfortable and realize that this time, she's not being left behind.   This girl deserves to know what it feels like to be somebody's dog. To have a favorite bed. A favorite person. A routine. A home. And most importantly, to know that when her person walks out the door, they're coming back.   We think Ginny is going to be awfully easy to love. ❤️. If you are interested in giving this girl The Good Life.... Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com asap.   Tell us what city and state you live in when you are inquiring about her.   PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.October 1, 2026, 8:05 pm
