Story
Blondie is a beautiful approximately 7-year-old Standard Poodle with a heart as golden as her name. After arriving at the shelter as a stray, this sweet girl has shown everyone just how resilient and loving she truly is. Although she was underweight when she first came into our care, Blondie never let her difficult past dim her spirit. She greets each day with a wagging tail, a happy attitude, and plenty of affection to share. Blondie adores spending time with people and quickly wins over everyone she meets. She enjoys the company of other dogs and would likely thrive with a canine companion, provided introductions are made slowly and thoughtfully. She already knows several commands, including sit, paw, and other paw, and she walks nicely on a leash, making her a wonderful partner for daily adventures. Standard Poodles are known for their exceptional intelligence, trainability and athleticism. They excel in a variety of activities, including obedience, agility, tracking, dock diving and retrieving. Blondie is intelligent, eager to learn, and loves having a job to do. She would benefit greatly from obedience classes, not only to build on the skills she already has, but also as a wonderful way to strengthen the bond with her future family. Whether it's learning new tricks, going for long walks, solving puzzle toys, or even enjoying a swim, Blondie will be happiest in a home that can provide both mental and physical enrichment. Blondie would likely do well with dog-savvy children and an active family who can include her in their daily lives. Cats are an unknown at this time, and as with many Poodles, a higher prey drive is possible. This lovely girl is looking for more than just a home she's looking for a family to love and who will love her right back. If you're searching for an affectionate, loyal companion who is ready to start her next chapter, Blondie may be the perfect missing piece in your life. Come meet Blondie and discover just how special she is. She has already overcome so much, and now all she needs is a place to finally call home. Blondie has an appointment to be spayed on June 23rd and will be ready for her forever home after her recovery.
