He is looking for a nice Standard Poodle family with a securely fenced yard. He would LOVE to be the only dog to be doted on. He LOVES walks, car rides and hanging out with the family. He is crate trained and house trained. He is very smart and knows many commands. He does great with teenagers. No apartments or cats please. Poodle experience is required. This poor boy was likely a puppy mill discard after he had done his duties as a stud dog. Spudley spent several months getting healthy and is ready to find that perfect family. Spudley is a nervous dog. At this time he doesn’t enjoy being touched at all. He needs a patient person that is willing to slowly work with him on trusting humans after a lifetime of mistreatment. Spudley will need a fenced yard as he is a flight risk. People scare him right now and he will just need the time to learn that not every person is a bad person. He would do great with a confident stable dog to help him learn how to be a real dog! We have not tested him with cats. Because he is afraid of people, a home with young kids is not ideal. Kids are loud and move way too fast and he will have a hard time with that. Spudley is a good boy, not aggressive at all just fearful. Help us help him find his forever family! While we don't know the exact mill he came from, we do know he was born, and lived his whole life, inside a barn with little to no human contact. Thank you for your interest in Pixie. Used at a breeding farm, Pixie lived in a barn. It was nice on the outside but we don't know what it was like on the inside. What we guess is that she lived in a stall or kennel. She likely had some puppies and then one day, because puppies aren't selling as quickly as they used to, the breeder decided to surrender her to our rescue. What a happy day! Well, for Pixie is was sort of happy and sort of scary. Pixie didn't know what life was like in a warm home with nice people, great food and toys.
