Story
Connie (A134243) is a 5-year-old Pit Bull who weighed 60.4 pounds on intake! 06/27/26 Miss Connie is back after an overnight adoption because she was very determined to chase the cats in her most recent home. For this reason, we highly recommend she go to a home without cats. If you are interested in meeting Connie, please give us a call!06/23/26 Connie, previously known as Coney, is back at the shelter due to no fault of her own. Sadly, her last owner was moving into a residence that does not allow pets. She was described as an outgoing and friendly dog. Historically, she has done well with babies and children, but was known to bark at strangers initially but quickly warms up! She was also said to do well with other dogs once appropriate introductions were made. While in their care, Connie was said to be kennel-trained, housebroken, rides well in a car, and knows her basic commands. Connie is quite overweight and we encourage her next owner to work with their vet on helping Connie shed a few pounds. If you are interested in meeting Connie, please let us know! 08/30/24 Coney, previously known as DeeDee, was brought back to the shelter because she had become destructive when bored. Coney was described as being a very loving and sweet dog who got along with children, strangers, other dogs and even cats in her previous home. Coney was said to know some basic commands such as sit, come, stay, kennel, and paw! Enrolling her in a basic obedience class with a certified trainer would be a great way to round out her training and manners and is likely to help with managing her destructive habits. Providing plenty of physical and mental enrichment and appropriate chew toys will also help! This will also help with her chewing and digging habits! Coney was said to ride well in the car and to be housebroken and kennel trained. she will whine to let you know she needs to go out! This outgoing, friendly and affectionate girl was said to be gentle when playing and quite the little lovebug! If you are interested in meeting Miss Coney, please let us know!04/18/24 Delightful DeeDee is eager to find her new home after arriving at the shelter as a stray. Since she was a stray, we do not know if she has a history with children or other animals. On intake, she was the biggest sweetheart, and her personality has continued to shine! She was initially uncertain of her doggy neighbors but now appears indifferent. Please ensure you do slow, safe, and controlled introductions with all new friends! DeeDee has been very tidy at the shelter and we think she may already be housebroken! However, she may need some reminders as she settles into her new home. We also encourage her new owner to bring her to a basic obedience class to continue working on her manners and to learn a trick or two! We would love to help DeeDee find her new person to love! If you are interested in meeting DeeDee, please let us know! June 30, 2026, 8:56 pm

Story
Loba (A142250) is a 1-year-4-month-old GSD x heeler mix who weighed 56.7 lbs at intake!06/29/26 Loba is back at the shelter and looking for her new home. Sadly, she was surrendered for the same reasoning as before – she does not possess training and is looking for an owner who can devote the time to her. We strongly encourage her next owner to speak with a certified trainer and get her enrolled in training. She is a smart girl and is truly hoping someone with the time, patience, and energy will help her succeed! Loba was noted to bark at other dogs, but has limited experience with other pets. Slow, safe, and controlled introductions are key! If you are interested in meeting Loba, please let us know! 05/30/26 Miss Loba was brought back to the shelter after a short adoption due to her lack of training and poor adjustment to the home. Loba Boba, as the shelter staff have taken to calling her, is a young, high energy dog. She needs help with her training. Enrolling her in a basic obedience class with a certified trainer would be a great place to start! Her most recent owner said it appeared that Loba may not have had much experience being loose inside. She had some destructive tendencies, so it will be important to work on directing this behavior toward enrichment and appropriate chew toys. Loba was also said to be very strong on leash, and the one time she slipped her collar, she ended up playing keep away until a neighbor caught her. We highly encourage her next owners to reach out to a local certified trainer and to do their own research on positive reinforcement training. Loba is very eager to please and can be a great dog with the proper time and attention. If you think you are the person that can help Loba be the best that she can be, please give us a call!05/23/26 This happy-go-lucky lady is Loba! Loba was surrendered to the shelter due to her previous owners moving out of state. She was described as a playful and friendly dog. She has been known to have a rough play style, so while she likes kids, please keep this in mind if you have small ones in the home. Loba was said to be kennel trained and housebroken. She knows some basic commands, and she will wait by the door when she needs to go outside. Loba was said to love being outside, and she was very respectful of the 4ft fence at her previous home. Loba does not have much experience with other dogs, and she will bark and run away from them at first. Slow introductions will be very important in her new home. She has been known to be vocal at times, and she has a lot of energy and will chew and dig if her energy needs are not met. Providing her with plenty of enrichment, exercise and appropriate chew toys can help with these habits. If you are interested in meeting Miss Loba, please give us a call!June 30, 2026, 8:56 pm

Story
Che’Lu (A136945) is a 1-year-and-11-month-old Pitbull who weighed 67.4 pounds on intake! Update from Che'Lu's previous owner: Che'lu means brother in Chamorro (Guam). Che'lu is a very sweet dog that just needs more love and someone to play with him/spend time with him. He's not been around children, when we would go to the dog park he submits to other dogs. He loves to run and when he does he prances. He is potty trained; he rings the bell on the door when he wants to go out. He knows sit and come.06/17/26 This energetic guy is Che’Lu! Che’Lu arrived at the shelter as a stray and is now looking for his new place to call home! He does have a previous bite on his record from when he was a puppy and was a little overexcited during playtime. He is still a young dog and can be mouthy when overstimulated. We encourage his next owner to bring him to basic obedience class to continue working on his manners and learn a trick or two. Che’Lu has a history of being at large, and his finders have always stated that he is friendly and just wants to play. However, it is important that his next owner keep him safely contained when outdoors – on a leash, in a secure tie-out, or supervised in a fenced yard. While at the shelter, Che’Lu has done well at keeping his kennel clean/accident-free indicating that he may be potty trained. Please keep in mind that there is always an adjust period as he settles into his new home and routine. We do not know Che’Lu’s experience level around children or other animals so please ensure you are making slow, safe, and controlled introductions with all new potential friends. If you are interested in meeting Che’Lu, please let us know! June 30, 2026, 8:56 pm
