Story
Coffee Bean is an almost 2-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix weighing about 50 pounds, and she’s a gentle, affectionate girl whose heart is just as big as her story. Before coming to rescue, Coffee Bean spent nearly two months surviving on her own as a stray. When she was finally brought to safety, rescuers discovered a collar painfully embedded in her neck and learned she was pregnant. Despite everything she had been through, Coffee Bean never stopped wanting to trust people. Once she realized she was safe, her sweet and loving personality quickly began to shine. Shortly after arriving in foster care, Coffee Bean welcomed 10 puppies into the world. Now it’s finally Coffee Bean’s turn to be the one who’s spoiled and loved. Coffee Bean is the definition of a cuddle bug. She absolutely loves being close to her people and would happily spend her evenings snuggled up beside you or curled up in bed. She’s incredibly loyal and tends to follow her humans from room to room, just happy to be part of whatever you’re doing. She’s friendly, outgoing, and has a joyful, playful personality that makes her a wonderful companion. She gets along very well with other dogs and especially enjoys having canine friends to play with. Because of how much she enjoys running and playing, Coffee Bean would love a home with a fenced yard and ideally another playful pup to keep her company. She’s also great with children and has the kind, patient temperament that makes her a lovely addition to a family. Coffee Bean is house-trained on a routine and does well having free roam in her foster home. She’s still working on some of the basics like leash manners and commands, but she’s eager to please and very motivated by treats, which makes her a fun dog to continue training with. Like many dogs, she can be a little nervous during car rides, but with time and positive experiences she will likely gain confidence. After everything she has been through, Coffee Bean is ready for the life she has always deserved. She’s looking for a home where she can run, play, cuddle, and be loved as deeply as she loves in return. If you’re searching for a loyal best friend with a heart full of affection, Coffee Bean is ready to pour all of that love into her forever family. Her minimum adoption fee is $100 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Story
Cece is an 2 year old mixed breed who weighs about 35 pounds. Beneath her initial shyness lies a sweet, playful, and loyal companion who just needs a little time to feel safe. Cece is nervous in new situations and takes longer to warm up to men, but once she trusts you, her loving nature shines through. She craves companionship and will follow her favorite people around the house, happily curling up in your lap or entertaining herself with toys. Cece loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine friend to help her build confidence, though she may need some time to adjust to new doggy pals. Cece enjoys running around in the yard, playing with toys, and getting the zoomies once she feels at home. While she hasn’t started leash walks yet due to her fearfulness, she’ll likely benefit from long walks and other forms of exercise to meet her energy needs. Cece needs a quiet, experienced home with a fenced yard to ensure her safety, as she is prone to running when scared. While her interactions with kids have been few, we believe she could adapt to a home with calm, patient children. With time, love, and understanding, Cece will blossom into a devoted and affectionate member of your family. Cece's adoption fee has been sponsored.  There is a $15 rabies registration fee for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
