Story
Cece is an 1 year old mixed breed who weighs about 35 pounds. Beneath her initial shyness lies a sweet, playful, and loyal companion who just needs a little time to feel safe. Cece is nervous in new situations and takes longer to warm up to men, but once she trusts you, her loving nature shines through. She craves companionship and will follow her favorite people around the house, happily curling up in your lap or entertaining herself with toys. Cece loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine friend to help her build confidence, though she may need some time to adjust to new doggy pals. Cece enjoys running around in the yard, playing with toys, and getting the zoomies once she feels at home. While she hasn’t started leash walks yet due to her fearfulness, she’ll likely benefit from long walks and other forms of exercise to meet her energy needs. Cece needs a quiet, experienced home with a fenced yard to ensure her safety, as she is prone to running when scared. While her interactions with kids have been few, we believe she could adapt to a home with calm, patient children. With time, love, and understanding, Cece will blossom into a devoted and affectionate member of your family. Cece's adoption fee has been sponsored.  There is a $15 rabies registration fee for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Meet Boo, an adorable Pit Bull Terrier mix with an estimated DOB of 5/1/25. She currently weighs about 25 pounds and has the perfect blend of playfulness, sweetness, and curiosity. Boo loves romping around the house, chasing toys, and playing with her foster dog friends both big and small. When playtime winds down, she’s happiest cuddled up with her canine buddies or snuggled in close with her people. Boo is friendly, outgoing, and happy, though she can be a little shy in new situations. She’s making progress with her potty training, though she isn’t quite able to consistently hold it for a full workday yet. She sleeps gated in a separate room and does well in a gated area during the day. Boo has also completed an intro to agility class and is currently attending puppy obedience, showing she’s eager to learn. This sweet pup enjoys car rides, loves to chew, adores toys, and is always ready to curl up in your lap. She does well with slow introductions to new dogs and has been redirectable during training classes, but she does have some mild reactivity that her adopters should be prepared to continue working on. Because of this, Boo would do best with experienced dog owners in a patient home that understands her need for proper introductions. She wouldn’t do well living next to a home with a fence-sharing dog, but she truly shines when she has support, structure, and the chance to build confidence at her own pace. Boo is ready to bring joy, playfulness, and cuddles to her forever family. Her adoption fee has been fully sponsored by a Secret Santa! There is a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. Story
Meet Mr. Pibb!   Mr. Pibb is a 7&#226&#128&#145month&#226&#128&#145old Pit Bull Terrier mix weighing 27.2 lbs, and he’s the perfect blend of sweet, cuddly, and playful. He’s making steady progress with house&#226&#128&#145training, and while he doesn’t do well in a crate, he does great when gated in a room with one of his canine foster siblings. Having a buddy nearby helps him feel secure, especially since he can get a little anxious when left alone. This happy pup loves spending time in the yard, especially when he gets to play with his dog friends. Toys, bones, and cuddle sessions are some of his favorite things, and when he’s not romping around, he’s happiest snuggled up with his fur siblings or curled up on his foster mom’s lap. Mr. Pibb hasn’t been exposed to kids yet, but he’s still very much a puppy and will need a family committed to helping him learn good manners. He’s extremely food&#226&#128&#145motivated—so motivated that he’ll help himself if given the chance—and he’s currently learning how to sit, keep his paws off tables and counters, and not beg. He’s also learning how to play appropriately with other dogs and is eager to keep improving. If you’re looking for a loving, affectionate young pup who’s ready to learn and grow with you, Mr. Pibb might be the perfect match. Story
Krypto is a 1-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix weighing about 72 pounds, and he’s equal parts big softie and loyal sidekick. Since landing in his foster home, he’s shown that beneath his handsome, sturdy build is a calm, affectionate soul who truly just wants to be near his people. Krypto is house trained and happily goes outside, though like any dog adjusting to a new routine, he may have an occasional transitional accident. He sleeps contentedly on a dog bed on the floor and prefers the comforts of home to being crated. He will tolerate a crate if needed, but it’s not his favorite place. This guy is not a high-maintenance athlete. His ideal day includes lounging around the house, playing with toys, a little fetch, and soaking up attention. He walks nicely on leash, knows “sit,” enjoys car rides, and has a habit of following his person from room to room like a polite, quiet shadow. Krypto is friendly, adaptable, and loyal, and he’s done wonderfully with adults of all kinds. When it comes to other dogs, he’s still learning how to manage his excitement and would benefit from continued guidance and structure to help him channel that enthusiasm appropriately. He hasn’t been around children yet, but his foster describes him as very gentle and believes he’d do well with them. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who wants nothing more than to hang out, be near you, and love you with his whole heart, Krypto may be your perfect match. Krypto’s adoption fee is $100, plus a $15 rabies registration fee for McLean County residents (if 4 months or older). He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Calvin is a housetrained, fun-loving, and energetic pup who’s ready to find his forever home! He's a sweet, 6-year-old Bull Terrier Mix who weighs 43.3 pounds. He loves his crate (as long as the door’s open!) but prefers snoozing on a comfy dog bed. This goofy boy has a ton of energy and enthusiasm for life—he’s always up for a round of fetch (or three!), toys, car rides, and a nice bone to chew on. Although Calvin walks well on a leash, he can be dog reactive, so he’ll need an owner who can confidently manage his reactivity in public. A securely fenced yard would be a big help for exercise and playtime. Calvin has been around babies and toddlers, but may accidentally knock them over in his excitement, so a home with children over age 5 would be best. With his playful spirit, affectionate personality, and love for cuddles, Calvin will bring endless joy and laughter to his new family. His minimum adoption fee is $400 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Records are sent via email. Paper versions are available upon request. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile above. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!
