Story
Oli is a special boy who joined our family 3.5 years ago as a mischievous pup. We had recently lost a (female) dog, so we welcomed in as a companion for our older (male) dog. They bonded pretty quickly. We were in the country at the time, and they both LOVED having lots of room to play. Circumstances arose, however, forcing us back into the city, and Oli has struggled a bit in that transition... practicing his evasive maneuvers whenever possible. Aside from his bad-boy tendencies, he's full of personality, super snuggly, and loyal to a fault. He recently started to display some aggressive tendencies, so we had him neutered in April. He has lunged at visitors in our home, so we've been training to improve that behavior. He has attacked our other older dog twice causing injury both times, without provocation. He would probably thrive best in a 1-dog home.

Story
Nala, who was adopted from us in November of 2022, is being returned. Although she lived peacefully with other dogs, the recent arrival of a new baby has made Nala protective and is resulting in fights with another dog in the home. Although she is good with dogs (submissive ones are best), I am questioning whether a home without other dogs would be best to prevent a similar situation in the future. I think we will likely need to evaluate on a case-by-case basis. Nala is approx 5 years old. She is 60 lbs and UTD on all vetting. Here is what her foster says: She loves to cuddle with her person and a blanket. She is free fed. She knows sit and paw. She loves having the sliding back door open and looking outside/watching the birds and squirrels She loves sunbathing She loves hiking at Turkey Run She pulls on a leash until she gets worn out, but I have been working on this and she is getting better. With consistency, I have no doubt she will easily transition to not pulling. She is anxious. Follows people around/needs to know what’s going on. She loves being included. She runs to loud noises to see what’s happening instead of running away. She has been in a house with two big dogs that were both submissive and did great until the baby was born. She has lived with two older children She is leery if people move too quickly or try and hug her. She will give a warning bark asking them to stop. She loves belly rubs. She enjoys car rides. Potty trained. Can hold her bladder for a while. She doesn’t need to go out overnight and would rather sleep in than to get up and potty. Not a fan of baths but will let me bathe her (she will not let my husband) Sometimes she will growl, but it’s actually her talking, not being aggressive She enjoys wearing clothes She likes treat puzzles and toys with squeakers, specifically taking the squeakers out of the toys

Story
Meet Loki, a 3.5-year-old Pit mix who is a sweet, loyal "Velcro dog" looking for a loving home. Loki is highly affectionate and forms a deep bond with his person; while he generally prefers women, he can be reactive to men. He is a gentle soul who gets along well with both large and small dogs. He is food-motivated, knows commands like sit, down, and wait, and is respectful of gates and boundaries. Loki is currently being treated for a minor skin condition that his veterinarian attributes to environmental or dietary changes, and he is fully vaccinated with a recent clear blood panel (noting only a minor thyroid level variance that is being monitored). Like many dogs, Loki is a work in progress. He is energetic and can be a bit jumpy during play, especially if a playmate is reactive. While he is friendly, he requires further socialization to improve his leash manners, as his excitement to meet other dogs can sometimes be misinterpreted. He has also shown protective instincts when strangers enter the home without a formal introduction, which can be managed with proper training and guidance. Loki has not been tested with cats or children. He is a wonderful companion who will thrive with someone willing to provide the continued socialization and structure he needs.
