Story
Sky came to us recently after she was found as a story and her microchip led her back to us. We had found her as a stray in 2016 and reunited her with her family a week later. We had her spayed and microchipped, but her family sadly never updated the information. Sky is approximately 8 - 9 years old, and is an A+ cuddler. She gets along well with other dogs, but would also be fine as the only dog in the home who has all of your attention. She has some lumps and bumps, but otherwise you would never know she is a senior pup. She is an absolute sweetheart and is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and on HW prevention.

Story
Winnie is a beautiful pitty girl looking for a particular home. She came to us after being found living in an abandoned van in a junkyard. She was thin and not in the best shape after fending for herself on the streets, She was under-socialized and unsure about people. We were not sure if she would be adoptable. After many weeks working with Winnie, she had her favorite people she was eager to please, but still struggled with more than one human at a time, and showed some nervous behaviors. After consulting with our vet, we decided to try Prozac, which has worked wonders for our Winnie girl! Winnie would do best in a home with an owner who is educated about the stigma pit bulls face in society, and who can make sure she has a spot in their home and family for her entire life anyways. She would prefer an adult only home, without other animals, that is willing to make her the “kiddo” of the family. Winnie does not seem to be a big fan of children and we will not adopt her into a home with children of any any age or regular kiddo visitors. She will need continued training and to stay on Prozac or to consult with your own vet about alternative anxiety medications that can help her continue to live her best life. Winnie loves walks in the world, creek stomping, car rides, snuffle mats, and things she can chew. She has done well here going outside if let out on regular schedule and doesn’t destroy her furniture in her room. She will destroy stuffies and sissy toys with glee. Winnie is looking for a human who wants a loyal best friend that doesn’t have a perfect past, but is committed to a beautiful forever.

Story
Simba is a 4 year old American Pit Bull Terrier. We pulled him from the shelter two years ago after he was hit by a car, but found his family and reunited them. Unfortunately, he was found as a stray again and in rough shape, so we decided it’s time for him to find a safe home for forever. He likes other dogs, and has lived with dogs that are both large and small. He also has lived with children of all ages, including infants and kids who may not have the best dog manners. Simba requires a low-fat diet, and we have him on GI food. He does ok with occasional regular treats - but his main diet must remain low-fat in order for him to stay healthy. He is very housebroken, has lived in a home before, and is crate trained. He does not like surprise strangers inside his yard or home, and does best when he knows a new friend is present with an introduction. He is extremely treat motivated and favorite treats should be kept somewhere he can’t reach them. He loves stuffies and good runs. Because romps during his outside time are his favorite, and he likes to guard his yard from birds and burglars, he will need a securely fenced yard. We’d be open to a dog experienced family that has alternative plan with lots of exercise if it’s a great fit. Simba is one of our favorite dogs.

Story
Are you looking for a dog that isn't super clingy? Ryker is your man. Ryker also isn't at the top of his class on learning but is eager to take treats which means he has potential. Ryker is an independent pup who didn't have a lot of socialization with people or other dogs. Once you sit down Ryker will sit down next to you and enjoys your presence. He is looking for a family who will work with him on building confidence and allow him to shine. He currently hangs out with a female dog that is super self assured, so Ryker might do well in a household with a similar dog with slow introductions. Because Ryker didn't have an opportunity to learn how to be a dog until later in life, he doesn't like to share his toys or his food. Because of this we recommend children that are teenagers or older. Like most white bully dogs, Ryker does suffer from allergies that are managed via medication and diet. Will you be the one to help Ryker be the good dog that he wants to be? *Adopters must live in Central Indiana, no more than 45 min from downtown Indy *Please visit website for how to adopt: https://sketchymuttsandunderdogs.org/adopt *Please note that we do not operate on a first come first served basis.

Story
Luka is a happy, beautiful and lovable young dog. Are you looking for a dog that would easily be trained? Luka is very attentive to training and highly food motivated. Due to being young, he does have a lot of energy but once that is managed Luka is happy, affectionate, and wants to please. Because Luka is young and still learning his manners he would be best in a household without small children. Luka is just a homebody of dog who is most comfortable lounging around the house and not being a social butterfly. He would love to be someone's ride or die and would be the goodest and most loyal boy. Luka is a wonderful doggo, who is young and still learning to DOG and in need of a patient person to unleash his full potential. His favorite foods consist of just about anything, but especially peanut butter biscuits. As he continues to get older, he becomes more and more willing to please. Luka arrived at the shelter with a leg injury but after months of splints, he is medically cleared for full activity! He can be dog selective, therefore slow introductions and meet and greets would be necessary. A dog that matches his play style would be best. Are you Luka's ride or die? If interested, please fill out an adoption application on our website, sketchymuttsandunderdogs.org **Adopters must live in Central Indiana, no more than 45 min from downtown Indy.

Story
Dewey is a silly, funny, affectionate, one of a kind doggo. We believe Dewey has congenital cerebellar hypoplasia, which essentially means that his brain doesn’t function quite like other dogs. He has an odd gait, like all 4 legs function somewhat independently. This is exaggerated when he runs and a new born giraffe trying to walk. Dewey has no idea he’s different and he is the happiest dog you’ll ever find! We do not believe that Dewey’s condition is progressive. Who he is today is who he is gonna be :). Dewey loves all people and dogs. His condition makes it hard for him to read other dogs or understand what a snarl or little growl might mean, so some dogs find him to be too much. He also has a play growl that sounds vicious and he plays rough, but Dewey doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He will need a patient dog friend. His humans will need to understand that he doesn’t learn the same as most dogs. He’s about 90% potty trained but might never get to 100%. He doesn’t respond well to verbal corrections. He needs to be shown very clearly what humans expect of him. Dewey is definitely more work than the average dog but he is so very worth it. You will not meet a happier, better natured dog anywhere! If Dewey sounds like the pup for you, fill out an adoption application at sketchymuttsandunderdogs.org!
