Story
McQueen deserves to spend the second half of his life in a home that is committed to him, his goofy charm, striking good looks, and loyal heart. McQueen came to us as a stray, and when contacted, the owner listed on his microchip made the decision not to reclaim him. We can't understand it ourselves, because this handsome guy has quickly become a favorite to several dog team members.
Recently, McQueen got to spend a day away from the shelter with one of our fosters, and her report couldn't have been better:
"McQueen is a lover. He cuddles on the couch, is housebroken, and was amazing outside. We took a nap together, and he gives excellent kisses."
And our favorite note, "I need him again!"
That pretty much sums him up.
McQueen is a 6-year-old Husky/German Shepherd mix weighing just over 60 pounds. He still has plenty of adventure left in him, but he's also perfectly content to curl up beside you for a nap. He loves other dogs and enjoys having canine friends to play with. Even sweeter, children seem to bring out his gentlest side and help him settle right down.
We're unsure how McQueen feels about cats, but we're happy to test him for approved adopters and will always do so before placing him in a home with feline family members.
McQueen has already experienced being left behind once. We'd love nothing more than for the rest of his story to be filled with couch cuddles, family adventures, and the unconditional love he's so ready to give.
