Meet Annie ❤️ Annie is a 10 year old German Shepherd mix with one of the most loyal hearts you’ll ever meet. When her owner passed away, Annie stayed faithfully by her side for four days until help arrived. She was then taken to a high-kill shelter, where her future was uncertain — until one of our amazing fosters stepped up to give her a second chance. Annie is the definition of a good girl. She’s great with dogs, cats, and kids. She’s potty, crate, and leash trained, but also does wonderfully free roaming and isn’t destructive. Annie enjoys quiet naps, gentle walks, and just being near her people. She’s calm, gentle, and carries herself with the kind of grace that only a wise old soul can. A fenced yard is required for Annie’s safety, as she enjoys exploring and soaking up the fresh air. 📍 Located in Lexington, Kentucky 💰 Adoption fee: $250 Annie is fully vetted and ready to find a family who will love her for the rest of her days. If you think you can give this sweet senior the happy ending she deserves, please message our Facebook page or email fureverbrookehaven@gmail.com to apply.

Story
A Little About Millie ❤️ Millie came to us after her owners moved away and left her and a few others behind. When she was found, she was highly pregnant and actually in labor. Within 24 hours, she gave birth to seven healthy puppies — all thanks to her strength and resilience. Millie is a big, beautiful 3 to 4 year old pit mix weighing around 79 pounds. She’s fully potty trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and does great in her kennel — which is pretty impressive considering we discovered she was kept outside most of her life 😆 Millie gets along wonderfully with both dogs and cats. Honestly, she barely notices them! Her entire world revolves around her person and affection. She acts as if she’s been deprived of love her whole life — and now that she’s finally getting it, she just can’t get enough. Millie is the definition of a velcro dog. She follows you everywhere (except the bathroom — she’s oddly terrified of bathrooms 😂). She wants to be near you at all times, preferably on top of you. She loves to cuddle, be petted, give kisses, and soak up every ounce of affection. She truly adores people and thrives on love. To be honest, she can be a little overstimulating because of how much affection she wants — she just can’t help herself. After everything she’s been through, it’s hard to blame her. And of course, we always give her the love she asks for (and then some) ❤️ When it’s time to eat, Millie does best if she’s kenneled during meals when other animals are around. She’ll growl if they get too close to her food and might snap, but she’s never made contact or bitten. With humans, she’s an angel — I’ve had my hands in her food bowl and even hand-fed her! She has no issues with people during feeding. The best part? Millie LOVES her kennel and will happily run right in when it’s dinner time 😂 She’s highly food-motivated, smart, and learning new tricks every day ❤️ When she’s not soaking up love, you can find her lounging in bed, on the couch, or stretched out on the kitchen floor. She’s a big fan of furniture and naps — especially when it’s warm outside 😂 Millie’s not big on toys, but she’s recently started playing with other dogs. For the first time, she’s learning how to have fun without worrying about raising puppies — and it’s been so sweet to watch ❤️ Unfortunately, Millie recently tested heartworm positive. After years of having litter after litter, being abandoned while pregnant, giving birth in stressful conditions, and now facing heartworm disease — this girl has been through so much. She deserves peace, love, and the comfort of a forever home. If you’d like to donate toward Millie’s heartworm treatment, we’d be so grateful. With a little more help, she’ll be ready for her forever family soon ❤️

Meet Dante ❤️ Dante is a 3 to 4 year old Pitbull with a heart as big as his smile. He was found as a stray, severely emaciated, but has made an incredible recovery and is now a happy, healthy, loving boy. Despite his rough start, Dante has an incredibly gentle soul and a playful, affectionate personality that will win over anyone he meets. He gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and kids, and would thrive in a home with at least one other dog to keep him company and help him feel secure. Dante is mostly potty trained and does best when kept on a consistent schedule. He is calm and well-behaved in a kennel and walks nicely on a leash, making him adaptable to a variety of home environments. Dante loves attention, belly rubs, and playtime, but he’s also happy to relax and lounge by your side. He has a sweet, loyal nature and forms strong bonds with those who show him love and patience. 📍 Located in Lexington, Kentucky 💰 Adoption fee: $300 Dante is fully vetted and ready to find a family who can provide him with the companionship, love, and structure he deserves.
