Story
A Little About Millie ❤️
Millie came to us after her owners moved away and left her and a few others behind. When she was found, she was highly pregnant and actually in labor. Within 24 hours, she gave birth to seven healthy puppies — all thanks to her strength and resilience.
Millie is a big, beautiful 3 to 4 year old pit mix weighing around 79 pounds.
She’s fully potty trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and does great in her kennel — which is pretty impressive considering we discovered she was kept outside most of her life 😆
Millie gets along wonderfully with both dogs and cats. Honestly, she barely notices them! Her entire world revolves around her person and affection. She acts as if she’s been deprived of love her whole life — and now that she’s finally getting it, she just can’t get enough.
Millie is the definition of a velcro dog. She follows you everywhere (except the bathroom — she’s oddly terrified of bathrooms 😂). She wants to be near you at all times, preferably on top of you. She loves to cuddle, be petted, give kisses, and soak up every ounce of affection. She truly adores people and thrives on love.
To be honest, she can be a little overstimulating because of how much affection she wants — she just can’t help herself. After everything she’s been through, it’s hard to blame her. And of course, we always give her the love she asks for (and then some) ❤️
When it’s time to eat, Millie does best if she’s kenneled during meals when other animals are around. She’ll growl if they get too close to her food and might snap, but she’s never made contact or bitten. With humans, she’s an angel — I’ve had my hands in her food bowl and even hand-fed her! She has no issues with people during feeding. The best part? Millie LOVES her kennel and will happily run right in when it’s dinner time 😂
She’s highly food-motivated, smart, and learning new tricks every day ❤️
When she’s not soaking up love, you can find her lounging in bed, on the couch, or stretched out on the kitchen floor. She’s a big fan of furniture and naps — especially when it’s warm outside 😂
Millie’s not big on toys, but she’s recently started playing with other dogs. For the first time, she’s learning how to have fun without worrying about raising puppies — and it’s been so sweet to watch ❤️
Unfortunately, Millie recently tested heartworm positive.
After years of having litter after litter, being abandoned while pregnant, giving birth in stressful conditions, and now facing heartworm disease — this girl has been through so much. She deserves peace, love, and the comfort of a forever home.
If you’d like to donate toward Millie’s heartworm treatment, we’d be so grateful.
