Story
A Little About Millie ❤️ Millie came to us after her owners moved away and left her and a few others behind. When she was found, she was highly pregnant and actually in labor. Within 24 hours, she gave birth to seven healthy puppies — all thanks to her strength and resilience. Millie is a big, beautiful 3 to 4 year old pit mix weighing around 79 pounds. She’s fully potty trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and does great in her kennel — which is pretty impressive considering we discovered she was kept outside most of her life 😆 Millie gets along wonderfully with both dogs and cats. Honestly, she barely notices them! Her entire world revolves around her person and affection. She acts as if she’s been deprived of love her whole life — and now that she’s finally getting it, she just can’t get enough. Millie is the definition of a velcro dog. She follows you everywhere (except the bathroom — she’s oddly terrified of bathrooms 😂). She wants to be near you at all times, preferably on top of you. She loves to cuddle, be petted, give kisses, and soak up every ounce of affection. She truly adores people and thrives on love. To be honest, she can be a little overstimulating because of how much affection she wants — she just can’t help herself. After everything she’s been through, it’s hard to blame her. And of course, we always give her the love she asks for (and then some) ❤️ When it’s time to eat, Millie does best if she’s kenneled during meals when other animals are around. She’ll growl if they get too close to her food and might snap, but she’s never made contact or bitten. With humans, she’s an angel — I’ve had my hands in her food bowl and even hand-fed her! She has no issues with people during feeding. The best part? Millie LOVES her kennel and will happily run right in when it’s dinner time 😂 She’s highly food-motivated, smart, and learning new tricks every day ❤️ When she’s not soaking up love, you can find her lounging in bed, on the couch, or stretched out on the kitchen floor. She’s a big fan of furniture and naps — especially when it’s warm outside 😂 Millie’s not big on toys, but she’s recently started playing with other dogs. For the first time, she’s learning how to have fun without worrying about raising puppies — and it’s been so sweet to watch ❤️ Unfortunately, Millie recently tested heartworm positive. After years of having litter after litter, being abandoned while pregnant, giving birth in stressful conditions, and now facing heartworm disease — this girl has been through so much. She deserves peace, love, and the comfort of a forever home. If you’d like to donate toward Millie’s heartworm treatment, we’d be so grateful. Meet Dante ❤️ Dante is a 3 to 4 year old Pitbull with a heart as big as his smile. He was found as a stray, severely emaciated, but has made an incredible recovery and is now a happy, healthy, loving boy. Despite his rough start, Dante has an incredibly gentle soul and a playful, affectionate personality that will win over anyone he meets. He gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and kids, and would thrive in a home with at least one other dog to keep him company and help him feel secure. Dante is mostly potty trained and does best when kept on a consistent schedule. He is calm and well-behaved in a kennel and walks nicely on a leash, making him adaptable to a variety of home environments. Dante loves attention, belly rubs, and playtime, but he’s also happy to relax and lounge by your side. He has a sweet, loyal nature and forms strong bonds with those who show him love and patience. 📍 Located in Lexington, Kentucky 💰 Adoption fee: $300 Dante is fully vetted and ready to find a family who can provide him with the companionship, love, and structure he deserves. He’s a true testament to resilience and would make a wonderful addition to the right home. Message our Facebook page or email fureverbrookehaven@gmail.com to apply!

Story
Get Dat Weenie is available for adoption! When you are scared at the shelter and only come out for Viennas, you end up with a name like Get Dat Weenie. Poor Weenie has been adopted, abandoned, returned to the shelter, adopted again, surrendered to rescue due to an emergency, and is now back with her amazing foster. Could you be her forever? She is one of the silliest and snuggliest dogs I have had here in a while. Here are some of her résumé worthy qualities: 🌭 Dog friendly. She takes a few days to understand that the natives are not there to compete for resources, but once she learns that dogs mean friends, this girl could play all day. She prefers smaller dogs or male dogs, but she can get along with anyone if her adopter gives her the patience she needs, usually around three days, to settle in and learn her environment. 🌭 Kid friendly. Older kids are recommended since sudden movements can startle her. Just like with dogs, slow and patient introductions are the key to success. 🌭 House broken. Only one accident and that was because she had too many snackies. 🌭 Crate trained. She will have words if you leave her in there and she is missing the action, but if it is time to settle for the night or you are heading to work, she will not complain. 🌭 Cat curious but respectful. She has seen cats up close and is definitely curious, but she will give them space. I recommend dog savvy cats or a safe space for cats to separate from her until they can be slowly introduced. 🌭 Lover of stuffies. Toys are life. 🌭 Smartie. She knows sit and paw. 🌭 Extremely snuggly. She will climb right into your lap for lovins and is not afraid to use those big brown eyes to make you feel bad about stopping the scritches. Weenie is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to be adopted. Located in Louisville Ky $250 adoption fee Let us know if you think she could be the ketchup to your mustard. Story
Benny has been hanging out with his foster for almost 5 months. He hasn't had any interest, we assume it's because of his breed. Well, we will tell you a little about him. Benny is a "man's best friend" type of dog. He absolutely loves being with people. He's great with other dogs and children. He walks well on a leash. He is a happy guy with lots of love to give. He's very energetic and loves to romp with playmates. He's built low to the ground and around 60lbs. He will make a great family member. He's loyal and eager to please. For return calls on Benny, please submit an application. It is much more productive to speak with you when we have an idea about your living situation. Due to limited resources and time, we will not be answering questions or returning calls until we have an approved application. That is the first step in our adoption process. His adoption fee is $150 Applications can be found on our website: https://www.jessaminehumanesociety.org He has been neutered UTD on vaccinations, treated for flea/tick and dewormed.

Meet Axel ❤️ Axel is a 10 year old Boxer mix with a personality that will steal your heart instantly. He came to us as an owner surrender, but it’s clear he’s always been loved and socialized — Axel adores everyone he meets. He’s great with dogs, cats, and kids, making him a true family companion. Candylicious is officially available for adoption! 💕🍭 This beautiful girl came to us after being found as a stray in Cincinnati, Ohio, and ending up at their local humane society. Candy is amazing with dogs, cats, and kids. She has no behavioral issues, walks great on a leash, and does well in a kennel. She’s mostly potty trained but will need to stay on a schedule to avoid accidents. She’s quiet in her kennel, loves playing with other dogs (especially big females 😆), and is absolutely food-motivated—she’ll sit and shake for any treat you’ve got! 🤣 Candy is the definition of a goofy, playful, and loving pup. She loves zooming around the yard, rolling over for belly rubs, and snuggling up once she’s had her fun. She’ll keep you laughing with her silly personality and melt your heart with her sweetness. She weighs 32 pounds and is short, stocky, and full of charm with ears for days😍 A fenced yard isn’t required for her. Candy is spayed, 4DX negative, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Located in Richmond, KY. Adoption fee: $300 If you’re interested in Candylicious, message us here or email fureverbrookehaven@gmail.com ❤️
