Story
Nova didn’t come to us with a name… just a story written in every step she took. She wandered onto one of our volunteer’s properties like she knew—this is where I’ll be safe. Wet. Cold. Far too thin. Quietly asking for help without making a sound. So her foster gave her a name: Nova. A fresh start. A new beginning. A light after darkness. And that name couldn’t fit her more perfectly. Despite whatever she’s been through, Nova is incredibly soft, gentle, and full of love. The kind of dog who leans into you like she’s been waiting her whole life to feel safe. She’s slowly gaining weight, healing both inside and out, and will need a dental to get her feeling her very best—but her spirit? That’s already shining. Nova is: 🐾 Great with kids 🐾 Good with other dogs 🐾 Unbothered by cats She’s the definition of resilience wrapped in a quiet, loving soul. Nova didn’t just find a yard that day… She found her second chance. Now all she needs is a home to make it permanent. 💛 Nova’s adoption fee is $400 plus MN tax which covers her spay, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care she may have needed while in the rescue’s care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. Story
Needs foster/foster to adopt Kimber is a stunning white Shepherd with energy for days and a heart that loves just as big. Born on 4/20/2021, he’s the kind of dog who thrives when he has space to run, people to love, and a purpose for all that playful energy. If you’re someone who enjoys staying active—whether that’s walks, yard time, lake days, or just being outside—Kimber is ready to be right there with you. He absolutely loves people and will happily soak up all the attention you’re willing to give. He’s grown up with structure and knows his basic commands, comes when called, and is already leash, kennel, and house trained. Kimber does best with consistency and an outlet for his energy—he’s not a couch potato, he’s your go-go-go kind of companion. ✔️ Loves running, playing, and staying active ✔️ Great with people and kids ✔️ Enjoys water, sprinklers, and lake days ✔️ Leash, kennel, and house trained He’s not neutered yet, but that’s something we’ll cover. Kimber is ready for his next chapter—but he needs a foster or foster-to-adopt home to get there. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving dog who will keep life exciting, Kimber might be your perfect match.

Story
Meet Bette Davis Bette is a sensitive, soulful girl with a gentle heart who is just beginning to discover that the world can be a safe and loving place. Believed to have come from an abusive past, she’s still learning to trust humans, but every day she shows a little more courage. At first, Bette may scramble away if someone reaches down to pet her. It’s her way of saying, “I’m not quite ready yet.” But with patience, consistency, and a calm approach, she is steadily warming up and showing her true, sweet personality. Watching her choose bravery, even in small moments, is incredibly rewarding. Bette finds comfort in routine and has done great with crate training; her crate is her safe haven. Bette is potty trained, though she may regress during fearful periods. The good news? She’s very smart and quickly gets back on track. She’s still learning how to signal when she needs to go outside, so her future family should be ready to help guide her. Leashes have been a scary new concept, but Bette is making great progress—especially when she has a confident dog friend by her side. In fact, other dogs are her absolute favorite thing in the world. They light her up, boost her confidence, and help her feel safe. Because of this, Bette requires a home with another playful, confident dog who can show her the ropes and help her continue to grow. She loves dogs of all sizes, especially little ones that like to play! Bette will thrive in a home that understands decompression and is committed to going at her pace. She’ll need a patient, experienced adopter who can help her work through “stranger danger,” build confidence, and continue positive exposure to the world around her. Breed experience is required. She does have a high prey drive, so a home without chickens, ducks, geese, or similar animals is a must. Bette isn’t the kind of dog who will run up to greet you on day one—but if you give her time, space, and understanding, she will quietly blossom into a deeply loyal companion. She’s looking for someone who sees her not for who she is today, but for the incredible dog she’s becoming. If you have a confident pup and a patient heart, Bette just might be your girl. Bette's adoption fee is $425plus MN tax which covers her spay, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care she may have needed while in the rescue’s care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are.
