Story
Bates is one of our longest residents. He has been in and out of the shelter system since August of 2022. He was found as a stray and brought to a crowded city shelter. He was then adopted and returned because he was too much for the elderly woman in the home. Bates is a big guy, probably around 85 lbs. He is a giant, goofy, big boy. Aside from shelter staff he has never had anyone who supported him and gave him routine, boundaries and structure. He will need to work on his manners but loves treats and is super loyal. He looks to his handler for direction. He loves other dogs of all sizes, but plays hard and doesn't like to share his toys or food with them. No kitties or small kids . He is good with the tweens/ teens. Bates needs a home where he is given structure and exercise. He loves to run and play and would benefit from another dog. We see so much in this silly guy who just wants affection and lots of treats. If you have what it takes to help Bates please consider filling out an application on our website AACNJ.ORG. He is looking for a foster or forever home.

Story
Meet Brutus AKA Bru. He is a Happy, spunky, smart guy who is very puppy like. He is currently going through training with his foster mom and is going well. He would do best as an a only dog or with a laid back female. We don't know how he does with little dogs or cats. He will need a home where he is given not only love, but boundaries and structure. A home where his training will be continued is ideal. While he loves his foster family and they love him, he would love a forever home to call his own even more. Story
Cranberry found herself abandoned at a high intake shelter in December of 2022, as if this wasn't bad enough she had a large stab wound on her back. She was treated but then found herself timestamped for length of stay. We took her in in January of 2023 and she has been here ever since. She is a sweet, silly playful girl who loves toys and people. Her dog meets have been more bad then good and we feel she would be happier as an only pet. She likes bigger kids and no small animals or cats for her. She needs some work on her basic manners and leash but other then that she is a good girl. If interested you can fill out an application on our website AACNJ.ORG
