She is in a foster home in SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS and can transport once an adopter is matched. Meet Trix – The Shy Girl with the Sweetest, Smartest Soul Trix and her brother were surrendered to a shelter in Houston, and it was clear from the start that she was the more shut down of the two. While her brother has already found his forever family, we knew Trix needed extra time in foster care to build confidence before beginning her own journey home. Trix was significantly undersocialized early in life, and her baseline is fear of humans. That said, she has never shown any reactivity — no growling, barking, lunging, nipping, or biting. When she’s unsure, she simply looks for a safe place to hide (a closet, under a deck, a quiet corner). She is gentle — just scared. She is also very quiet and incredibly observant. Trix watches everything going on around her and picks things up quickly. She is VERY smart. Doggy door? She had that figured out within just a couple of days. She may be shy, but she is always learning. After a few days in a new environment, you can see her begin to soften. With patience and intentional time spent building trust, she grows more comfortable being near her people. Over time, she’ll surprise you — playing with toys when she thinks no one is watching, running and sunbathing with other dogs, and eventually choosing to curl up on the couch or sleep in bed with her humans. Trix does well with other dogs after proper acclimation, and we strongly believe she would thrive with a confident canine companion to follow and learn from. While not an absolute requirement, adopters without another dog should have a thoughtful plan for socialization and confidence building. She: Is housebroken Loves her crate Is learning to walk on a leash Has been around kids (shy at first) Is very quiet Has unknown history with cats Appears to be a low-rider mix who will likely be medium-sized when full grown Trix will need a home where someone is around more often than not — both because she’s still a puppy and because building trust takes time and consistency. She is not a “ready-made” confident dog. She is a diamond in the rough who will require patience, compassion, and commitment. But for the family willing to invest in her, the reward will be extraordinary. Watching Trix discover that the world isn’t so scary — that she is safe and loved — is something truly special. She deserves a family of her own. One that will help her find her courage and never give up on her. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. Story
Vada is a 5-year-old, 50 lb spayed female pittie mix with the most beautiful grey and white coat and a magnetic personality. This adorable girl is equal parts playful, affectionate, and full of life — she’s the kind of dog who brings energy, joy, and nonstop tail wags wherever she goes. If you’re looking for a fun, loving companion who’s always ready to be part of the action, Vada is your girl. Vada is being fostered in Austin, Texas and is available for adoption out-of-state. Transport can be arranged for approved adopters. Please note, our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we’ll reach out to coordinate a phone interview, followed by a video call with her foster home. A virtual home visit, plus personal and vet reference checks, are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation. Vada is a social butterfly with other dogs and loves high-energy play. She’s enthusiastic, playful, and thrives on interaction — the kind of dog who will happily zoom around the yard and engage in a good play session. She’s been around dogs ranging from 20 lb puppies to 60–70 lb adults and does great with all of them. She reads social cues well and knows when another dog has had enough, making her a fun but respectful playmate. On leash, she gets excited when she sees other dogs and is eager to go say hello — she just loves making new friends. She currently lives with kids ranging from 4 to 18 years old and absolutely adores them. Vada is friendly, affectionate, and loves being part of a family environment. The only thing to note is her excitement — she can jump up when greeting people, so while she does well with kids of all ages, supervision and continued training around greetings will help set her up for success. Vada is a dream on leash — she walks beautifully and is easy to handle, making daily walks enjoyable and stress-free. She is fully house-trained and does great in a crate, typically sleeping from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. without any issues. She’s comfortable in her crate and uses it as her space to relax and eat her meals. She has no issues with food or resource guarding and has shown great manners around people and other dogs when it comes to food, toys, and treats. Her energy level is moderate — she loves to play and be active but also knows how to settle and relax. She would thrive in an active home that can give her regular exercise and engagement, whether that’s walks, playtime, or just being included in daily life. She doesn’t need another dog to be happy but would certainly enjoy having a playful companion. Vada is outgoing, curious, playful, smart, silly, and incredibly affectionate. She loves her stuffies and hard chews, and she’s always ready for a game or some cuddle time. She’s very people-oriented and will happily shower you with love — she’s truly a “Velcro dog” at heart. When meeting strangers, Vada is friendly and excited — she loves people and isn’t shy about showing it. She may jump up in her excitement (she just wants to say hello!), so continued work on polite greetings will go a long way. She rides great in the car and is always up for an adventure. Vada’s ideal home is one that matches her energy and enthusiasm — active, engaged, and ready to include her in everyday life. She would do best with a family that can continue reinforcing good habits and provide her with both physical activity and affection. If you’re looking for a happy, loving, playful dog who will keep you smiling and fill your home with energy and affection, Vada is your girl. With a little patience and consistency, she will be the most loyal, fun, and devoted companion you could ask for. ___ ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. Story
Ivy, 4 months old (estimated DOB November 2025, female, Pitbull/Retriever mix, estimated to be a large size when full grown. She is located in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS and can transport to an adopter. Ivy and her siblings were rescued with their mom the end of last year. Lilly (mom) was spotted at an abandoned building appearing very pregnant. When she disappeared for a few weeks, rescuers suspected she had her puppies. They found them sometime later on a dirt floor in a barn. Lilly found the safest place she could for her new family. These rescuers made posts asking for rescues to help get this family into a home. Lilly is a brindle Pitbull and we included a picture of her for reference. She is about 55 pounds. We do not know all the breeds this group is mixed with so take your best guesses with us. We also do not know how big any of them will be full grown. We believe they were born middle of November. Ivy is thriving in foster care and learning the ropes. Her foster mom has provided her a solid foundation. She knows sit, paw and kennel. She has practiced leash walking and is doing really great so far. She is in a home with kids and other dogs. Ivy will need continued socialization in her forever home. She was initially very weary of the men/boys in the home, but is now going up to them for pets. The first few months of her life were without a lot of human interaction, so we are very proud of her. She is incredibly smart and has great recall already. She will certainly chose a "human" and will likely take her lead from that person. She is eager to learn and wants to please which helps tremendously with training. She will whine a little bit in her crate, but settles down. She will alert you when she needs to potty and rarely has accidents. Of course in a new transition we always expect that to happen. Ivy will do best in a home who is patient, ready for puppyhood and willing to expose and socialize her to the world around you. She is a wonderful girl who loves to be close and cuddle when she's not zooming around the house/yard! Like all puppies her age, Ivy is still learning everything about the world. Her adopter must be committed to: Consistent training and positive guidance Socialization and structure Patience, time, and understanding of normal puppy behaviors A puppy this young cannot be left alone all day. If you work outside the home for a full workday, you will need to clearly explain who will be home with Ivy and how her needs will be met in order to be considered. She is not housebroken or crate trained. Ivy is more than just a cute puppy—she’s a lifelong commitment who will grow into the dog you help shape her to be. If you’re ready to invest the time, love, and responsibility that comes with raising a young pup, Ivy is ready to return that devotion tenfold. Could Ivy be your new best friend? ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown.
