Squiggy is a comical, ridiculous little dog who came to us after a dog fight bust. He's around 4 years of age and has been hanging out as a sort of sanctuary dog for a few years, but he's grown so much in that time that he'd do just fine in a home with people of his own. Squiggs is a little guy, maybe 40lbs, with goofy energy and the sweetest demeanor. He absolutely loves people and loves fun, and he's gotten so very close to making dog friends, but he's just too afraid of being attacked again and can't quite get there. It's such a shame what people call a sport, and this little guy had to pay the price of evil peoples' entertainment, he so deserved better.  So what's life with a former fighting dog like? Well, to be fair, he wasn't so much of a fighting dog as a target of other dogs. He's s little guy, and he's a happy guy, he visits with other dogs through barriers and play bows, he looks for all the world like a guy who is dying to play with other dogs, you'd never know by watching him what he's been through. Generally he's just a dog, he has no vices, he's super food motivated and loves to train. He'd absolutely adore finding a human who would trick train him and help him learn to binge watch Netflix. There's actually no management needed within the home, just crate and rotate if family comes with visiting dogs, he's totally fine with that life.  These guys are always hard to find a home for, not because they're anything other than a dog, but because media has scared people into thinking they're monsters. If you met Squiggy and someone called him a monster, you'd totally crack up, he's so not scary at all. Even with the cropped ears and black coat, he's just such a little goofball. Squiggy would love a fenced yard and a person to call his own. He'll follow you around the house and help you with all the things, then he'll flop down on his bed and chew his bones or hop up onto the sofa for a solid cuddle. He's a good little dog who deserves a human of his own, foster or adopter, either is fine. Ready to make a difference in the life of a dog who had a truly horrific start? Squiggy can't wait to hear from you! Visit southofthebully.com and fill out an application today. Our adoption fee is $300. This covers spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, all age appropriate vaccines, and any needed vet care. April 20, 2024, 4:43 pm

Once your application has been submitted, our Adoptions Team will be in contact shortly to set up a phone interview and a home visit. Our boy Stanley is one happy dude, but do you think he'd smile for a photo? Lawdy, doggo, show the peoples your bestest buddy dog grin! No? Ok, they'll just have to take our word for it. Stanley is 1.5-2 years old, 40ish lbs and just the neatest little guy. His head seems way too big for his body at times, he's great with dog friends, he loves to learn and will stare at you waiting for the next lesson to begin and he can chase a squirrel up a tree with the best of them. Stanley loves the kiddos, but is not for cats or small cage animals. He's housebroken, crate trained, mostly quiet and pretty non-destructive. He does love a good sofa relaxation session as much as he loves a rowdy game of fetch. He's just an all around good dog looking for an all around good family to show him what happily ever after looks like. Does this look like the dog you've been hoping to find? Visit southofthebully.com and fill out an application, we can't wait for you all to meet each other! Our adoption fee is $300. Once your application has been submitted, our Adoptions Team will be in contact shortly to set up a phone interview and a home visit. You guys, look at this yummy baby we found in the shelter! Oslo and his equally delicious brother found themselves in a local kill shelter at 10-12 weeks old. No doubt leftover babies from yet another irresponsible litter, that’s a far too common tale these days. Thankfully we had an open foster for each of them, now we just need to find their happily ever afters. Both boys are amazingly easy going puppies. They take life in stride and are happy to go along for the ride. They’re right around 12 weeks old as of mid-April, and they’re learning all sorts of great things like crate training, leash walking, and general good baby manners. They’re little super stars just waiting for their people to come along. Are you looking to raise your next BFF family dog? These boys will fit just about anywhere, visit southofthebully.com and fill out an application today.  Our adoption fee is $300. This covers spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, all age appropriate vaccines, and any needed vet care. April 20, 2024, 4:43 pm
