Story
Allie is a loyal and intelligent German Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her paws. Brave yet gentle, she’s always alert and ready to protect the people she loves most. When she’s not keeping watch, Allie enjoys long walks, learning new tricks, and soaking up attention like it’s her full-time job. Known for her sharp instincts and affectionate nature, Allie is more than a dog—she’s family. Allie will also need to be an only pet because she is jealous of other dogs, and she does not do well with cats at all.

Story
Ryder was once a playful, innocent puppy, full of potential, born into a world that never gave him a chance to be a true pup. He was just a little ball of fur trying to survive in the cold, unforgiving streets of Flintville, with no one to love or protect him. He learned early that humans weren’t kind, that they could be cruel, and that trust was a luxury he could no longer afford. He spent his days trying to stay hidden, scavenging for scraps, and darting away from any human who came too close. Each person who tried to help him, at first, brought nothing but pain and disappointment. Ryder's heart became a fortress, his hope shattered by the hands that had betrayed him.Every time a stranger reached out, Ryder pulled away, too scared to believe that kindness was real. His paws had carried him far, but his spirit was breaking from the weight of the world that had abandoned him. His body bore the scars of neglect and cruelty, but it was his heart that ached the most. Then, one day, after what seemed like an eternity of loneliness and fear, a gentle soul finally saw him — not just the frightened dog, but the puppy he still was underneath. With patience, persistence, and love, they earned his trust. Ryder was caught, finally freed from the chaos he had known, and brought to the Humane Society. Now, Ryder is learning that not all humans are like the ones who hurt him. He is slowly learning to trust again, though the scars of his past will take time to heal. With a little bit of love and a lot of patience, Ryder has the chance to be the pup he always deserved to be — happy, safe, and loved. But for now, he’s taking it one step at a time.

Story
Xena’s story began on the side of a quiet road, where a tiny puppy with hopeful eyes was left behind. She didn’t understand why she was alone. She waited for a long time, but no one came back.Hungry and trembling, she wandered until she found her way to an elderly couple’s house. Too weak to bark, she simply sat by their door, silently asking for help. When they found her — thin, dirty, and shaking — she didn’t run. She just looked up at them, still full of hope.Though she had been dumped, Xena’s spirit never broke. She chose love over fear, and in doing so, she was rescued by these kind people who brought her to the Humane Society of Lincoln County, to give Xena a second chance at life, and to find her forever home.
