Story
Meet Graycie! Graycie is a smart, loving, playful girl who has been through a lot and is still learning that she’s safe. Once she trusts her people, her happy personality shines through and she’ll shower you with affection. She’s looking for an experienced, confident family who understands shepherds and is willing to provide the structure and consistency she needs. - Smart, affectionate, playful, and very food motivated - Loves cuddling and thinks she’s a lap dog—she especially enjoys laying on top of her favorite person - Loves toys and chewing on Benebones - Dog selective, but can become very playful with dogs she likes after proper introductions - Does best with plenty of space to run and play - Crate trained and keeps her crate clean - Muzzle trained and comfortable wearing her muzzle, especially when she knows it means walk time - Strong on leash and may bark or lunge when she sees another dog with a person; she can be redirected with proper handling - Has a prey drive toward smaller animals and may pull when interested, but can be redirected - Very responsive to training when food is involved - Can be protective of her person and is still learning appropriate boundaries - Needs structure, consistency, and a confident handler who will follow through with training - A little wary of young children, so older, respectful children would likely be the best fit; proper introductions will be important - Her personality truly blossoms once she gets to know and trust you Graycie is not looking for a family that expects her to be perfect right away. She needs someone willing to understand her, provide clear boundaries, and continue helping her build confidence. In return, she’ll give you the loyalty, affection, playfulness, and devotion that make shepherds so special. Story
Hemi is a delightfully sweet and adorably uncoordinated puppy, complete with oversized floppy ears, an adorable underbite, and white-tipped toes that make him even more irresistible. His tail never stops wagging, and neither does his enthusiasm for life! Hemi is: 🐶 A goofy, joyful, floppy boy who will give you kisses, make you laugh, and spends a lot of time rolling on his back 🐶 Perfecting his leash walking including frequent check ins with his handler 🐶 Happy to relax in his crate when left home alone and sleep overnight 🐶 Smart, food-motivated, and already knows many basic commands 🐶 A toy loving pup who’s potty trained 🐶 In training with 4 on the Floor and Complex Companions Hemi would thrive as an only dog soaking up all the attention - though he’d be happy to make a few close dog friends and hang on a patio that has ample space. Like every puppy, he needs patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement to help him become the incredible adult dog we know he’ll be. Hemi is a sensitive boy, with a rough start to life, and is learning to manage his big feelings! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FHVA/Dog

Story
Madison is a beautiful 2-year-old, 42-pound sweetheart looking for a family to call her own. This medium-energy girl is house trained, crate trained, and knows her basic commands. While she may take a little time to warm up to new people, once you've earned her trust, you'll discover a loyal companion whose love knows no bounds. Madison's favorite things in life are simple: long walks, chasing a ball, toys, treats, lick mats, pup cups, and most of all, spending time with her people. She's especially fond of cuddling and proudly considers herself a professional "little spoon." Whether you're working from home, relaxing on the couch, or settling in for the night, Madison will happily stay close by your side. This adventurous and brave girl loves exploring trails and sniffing every interesting scent along the way. She's food-motivated, eager to please, and always ready for the next adventure—as long as she gets to share it with her favorite humans. Despite her adventurous side, Madison also has a wonderfully chill nature and knows how to relax and enjoy quiet moments. More than anything, Madison loves to love and be loved. She forms deep bonds with her people and will be a devoted companion who watches over her family just as they care for her. If you're looking for a loyal best friend who will join you on adventures, keep your feet warm while you work, and shower you with affection, Madison may be the perfect match. ❤️
