Story
Meet Dom! Dom is a 3.5-year-old, 59-lb sweetheart with the perfect balance of low–medium energy. Affectionate, athletic, and incredibly loyal, Dom’s happiest place is right by his person’s side. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, and ready for his forever home. Dom absolutely adores people of all ages—kids, adults, and seniors alike. He prefers to be the only dog in the home and can be leash reactive, but he walks beautifully with a calm, confident handler who gives him the space he needs around other dogs. He doesn’t pull, listens well, and redirects with ease. In the home, Dom is truly a dream. He’s fully house trained, gentle, respectful, and completely trustworthy when left alone—no crate needed. He’s never destructive and is perfectly content snoozing on the couch until his person returns. He knows his commands, is food-motivated, and strikes a perfect balance of independent and snuggly. Whether curled up by your side or relaxing in his own bed, he’s easygoing and well-mannered. Dom loves car rides, hikes, long walks, and any outdoor adventure, but he’s just as happy enjoying a quiet evening, watching TV, or lounging at home. He’s the ideal mix of sweetness and smarts—ready to bring joy, companionship, and unwavering loyalty to a family who appreciates a truly good dog. Dom is one of a kind. He just needs someone to love—and he’ll give that love back tenfold.

Story
Peppa is a sweet, snuggly girl who just wants to be loved! At about 2 years old, she’s already house- and crate-trained and adores her cozy kennel—she’ll even tuck herself in when asked. A little shy at first, Peppa quickly blossoms into a total love bug, happiest curled up beside you on the couch (or even cradled in your arms like a baby!). Energy & Playtime Peppa has a low–medium energy level. She loves basking in the sun, short strolls around the neighborhood, and quick play sessions—fetch is her all-time favorite! After about 15 minutes of fun, she’s ready for a well-deserved nap. She’d thrive in a home with her own fenced yard, where she can chase her favorite toys, zoom after the flirt pole, and chat with the squirrels. Dog & Kid Compatibility Peppa gets excited to meet doggy friends and enjoys one-on-one playdates with tolerant, playful pups. But for now, she’ll do best as your one-and-only at home—she just can’t quite settle with other dogs in her space. She’s great with kids, though since she’s a sturdy little tank, we recommend older kiddos (6+) so she doesn’t accidentally knock them over. Other Perks Peppa is a dream in the car (hello, road trip buddy!), can handle stairs but prefers fewer of them because of her short, little legs. She is super treat-motivated and a quick learner who loves making her people proud. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion to be your cuddle buddy and sunshine on lazy days, Peppa may be your perfect match! Ready to meet Peppa? Apply today and let her steal your heart! Meet Jolie! 🐾 This 50-lb bundle of joy is medium-energy, endlessly playful, and absolutely LOVES other dogs. She’s a pro at matching their play style, making her the perfect playmate for pups of all personalities. Jolie is also cat-friendly, crate trained, and nearly fully house trained. She already knows basic commands like “sit” and “down” — smart and adorable! Jolie’s favorite things? Playing with her dog friends (seriously, she can’t get enough!), snuggling in her bed, and squeaking her favorite toys. She’s affectionate, adventurous, athletic, food- and toy-motivated, and full of sweet, silly charm. While she can be a bit shy at first, she warms up quickly and soon shares her signature kisses and love, she just needs slow introductions to new people. Because of her young age and playful energy, Jolie would do best in a home with kids 6 and up — though she’s very sweet with kids of all ages. If you’re looking for a fun, friendly pup who’ll keep you smiling (and your dog entertained), Jolie might just be your perfect match! Apply today - https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FHVA/Dog

Story
Fran is a sweet and bubbly Boxer mix who lives for treat time! If you love hanging out in the kitchen, she’ll be right by your side, ever hopeful that any bag you grab holds snacks. Her excitement is contagious — though she’s still learning to sit patiently for treats! This gentle girl is slowly coming out of her shell and learning to enjoy cozy time with her dog friends. She’s incredibly submissive and hasn’t met a pup she doesn’t like. When feeling overwhelmed, Fran simply retreats to her safe spot — often her bed or the kitchen. Walks can be a bit scary at first, but once she gets going, she really shines. She’s working on potty training and improving every day. Fran would thrive in a calm home with older kids and, ideally, another dog to help guide her. She came to us unsure of the world, but with love and patience, she’s blossoming into the sweetest companion. Fran is proof that a little kindness goes a long way. Story
I adopted her from the Fredericksburg SPCA about two years ago. She is three years old. She is very lovable and protective over her people, She would be best in a home without any other animals. She will adjust with other animals it just takes a bit of work, I hate to have to give her away I love her so much she is an amazing dog, but due to unfortunate circumstances the place I had for her to go fell through, and I’m in the process of enlisting in Air Force and can be called to ship out any day.
