Story
Brenda Baby!!! Brenda is an amazing, loving, playful and energetic baby!!! She is all about the baby talk, the loving, the cuddles, and running, sniffing, and ....ZOOMIES!!!! This also means that she will need her family to understand that she needs work to learn how to sit and focus. Her family needs to understand her teething needs as well because she is still a puppy. Being a puppy though she is highly trainable and eager to learn! Brenda also needs her family to complete her potty training and leash training. She is doing very well not going in her kennel. But, still needs work understanding to go outside while on leash. And she does still have accidents if left in the house too long without her being supervised. As a puppy, Brenda gets along with ALL DOGS. She is a fast learner and learns cues from other dogs regarding being dog socialized very fast. Brenda is a sweet, rambunctious baby and goofy. Brenda has been spayed. She has all four DAPP shots. She has her bordatella shot and rabies shots. She is chipped. Brenda has been tested, treated (if needed), and retested for giardia and coccidia. And she is on heartworm and flea and ticks preventative. She is also kennel trained and has been socialized around dogs of various ages and sizes. Brenda is ready to join her family and brings lots of puppy LOVE and FUN into your lives!!! All animals receive a health certificate (stating that a licensed veterinarian saw the pet and deemed it healthy for travel, but is not a promise of perfect health). Please email for an A.M.O.R. application in order to be considered. Please note: this pet is located out of state.

My name is Dyme! I am super friendly and a lover. I love to cuddle! I enjoy outside, walks, and rides in the car. Chasing birds is my hobby. My mommy gets mad but when she feeds me in the morning I love to take my bowl full of food and run with it…It’s just something funny I do! I have a lot of personality and love my tummy being rubbed. I’m sad I have to leave my home because my mommy is moving and can’t take me with her. Please adopt me and let me love on you! -Dyme

Story
He’s an absolute amazing boy. I love him so much and my heart is broken but I can’t keep him because he’s very high energy and very reactive if you touch his feet. With a new kid it’s just doesn’t work out. He is dog aggressive however I spent over $2,000 on dog aggression training with a certified trainer and he’s made massive improvements. He just needs attention from a family that has the time. I’m active duty military and can’t give him the time needed especially with a new kid. He’s perfectly house broken and has never destroyed anything inside the house. Again it’s absolutely heartbreaking to lose my first dog I just want him to have a good home

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Joy came to us from Texas and we all know that everything is bigger in Texas and and so is her personality. - Joy is a happy but exciteable dog.- She is super sweet and loves to cuddle (all the time if you let her).- Joy gets along well with people but due to her energy level must be in a home with children 6 and up - She is house and crate trained.- Joy does not do well in the car. She gets very excited on car rides as other cars go by (she is trying to chase them).  - Joy loves going on walks and knows her basic commands. - Joy can get along with other dogs but will push herself onto other dogs with dominant gestures which can cause problems if uncontrolled. Unless you are an experienced bully owner we therefore recommend that she is the only dog in the family. No dog parks, no cats, no small dogs, no children younger than 6 years.  Joy has a lot of energy and her three legs do not slow her down. There are no restrictions on what home she should be in. You will need to be able to provide daily exercise for her to keep her energy under control. She can go up and down steps without problems. Joy is all muscle and will jump in the car all by herself. You will be amazed! We would love to see Joy go into a home with a fenced in yard (4' minimum height). She loves laying outside in the sun during the day.Joy is in good health otherwise.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 7, 2023, 1:07 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Woody has such a big heart! Once he bonds with “his” people, those bonds are extremely strong.... but it does take time. He warms up faster to women than men, but men are a close second; ultimately, he bonds strong with both. Woody will give the family that’s patient and the “right match” much joy and unconditional love. Woody tends to be insecure, and he can be very nervous and anxious in new situations or around new people. We believe this is because when he was a young dog he was bounced from location to location. He came to VA by way of NC. Once in VA he was at two different shelters and with two different rescue organizations before coming to The Furever Project. Our organization is committed to fining this loving, goofy, insecure guy his forever home. Woody’s ideal home is going to have lots of space and must have a fenced yard where he can run and play (no apartment or townhouse living for this guy). Woody would not do well in a home with young children. When he gets excited (and he does get the zoomies) it’s hard for him to put on the brakes quickly and he would easily knock down young children. Woody would benefit greatly from being in a home where daily exercise is priority. He does enjoy going for long walks and/or long runs and he can definitely go the distance! Woody does take daily medication to help with a mix of anxiety and high-energy. Woody will do best in a home with a routine and structure. He’s very observant. When things change up on Woody, it can be hard for him to adjust. You can tell he’s trying to figure out what’s going on when the wrinkles appear in his forehead, and he looks from side-to-side trying to figure out why things are different. Woody is extremely intelligent and a very fast learner. He loves working on trick training which can be a lot of fun. Woody would be a joy, and in some respects a challenge, for anyone who enjoys and is passionate about training! Woody does live with other dogs but he requires slow, controlled introductions. Because of this, Woody is not a candidate for dog parks. Woody plays hard and is vocal (barking) during play, but only during play. Doggie siblings would need to be tolerant of his style of play. Woody has been with us for over two years now and waiting for a home of his own for at least three years or more. We believe there is a home for every dog. Could Woody’s home be with you?  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 7, 2023, 10:56 am

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Update 01/22/2022:Chip was returned to our rescue due to not getting along with the other dog in the house. Here are some facts about this gorgeous boy:> great with people and children> he can get along with other dogs but it needs management> Chip has never been around cats> house, crate and potty trained> loves car rides> goofy and playful - Chip loves playing ball> loves going on leashed walks> listens very well to commandsIf you are interested in learning more about this gorgeous boy please email us at bobbiespitrescue@gmail.com Chip was rescued from a local shelter along with his 5 brothers and one sister.  We are calling them 'The Magnificent Seven'. Chip is a quiet puppy who is easy going and happy as long as he has a toy or another dog to play with.  He absolutely adores the  four dogs in his foster home and is great with all sizes.  He walks really well on the leash, is a little cautious at first when he sees new people but warms up quickly. He just recently learned how to walk up and down the stairs, he was scared at first.  He also learned how to jump on the couch so that he can hang out with his foster family.  Chip's foster family is working on basic commands like 'sit', 'drop it', 'leave it' and he is doing amazing so far. Chip is crate trained and spends the night quietly in his crate.  Chip  is very energetic and loves running around in the yard but he is also a huge cuddle bug and loves just hanging out with his human family. Chip is a cute little boy who would make a wonderful addition to any family.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 7, 2023, 1:07 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Looking for a Velcro dog in a perfect-sized, 55-pound package? Then look no further than our ador-a-bull Hope! This sweet girl didn't have the best start to life, but she's left all of that behind her since coming to The Furever Project! Hope, who acts more like a youngster than the senior gal that she is, has a zest for life that is truly contagious! She loves every person she meets, and she thinks that other dogs and cats are pretty swell, too. (She lives with both pups and kitties in her foster home.) She does extremely well in her crate, and she has a wonderful appetite — which includes the occasional dose of Benadryl with yummy peanut butter for her allergies. Hope is also very food-motivated; she already knows "sit," and we're sure that she'll pick up more commands in no time! (She has a not-so-great habit of trying to jump up on counters and tables, but she's getting better every day!) She loves toys, as well; her favorites seem to be chew bones and squeaky toys. Hope deserves an individual or a family who will spoil her and shower her with love for the rest of her happy, new life — could that be you? If so, please submit an adoption application for her today!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 7, 2023, 10:56 am
