Story
Looking for an active buddy who loves car rides and snuggles? Lavender might be your girl!
Happy Lavender is a pit bull mix with warm chocolate eyes, stunning merle coloring, and a desire to play. Life has dealt this girl a few bumps in the road, but her active, fun, and loyal personality never faltered. Lavender came to our rescue on March 15, very pregnant. A challenging housing situation made it virtually impossible for her owners to meet the needs of a pregnant mama and her imminent puppies. Her owners surrendered her to us, and our amazing litter foster welcomed this soon to be mama into her home. And just in time, too. Three days later, Lavender welcomed her five puppies of the Spring Flowers litter! Now that the puppies have found homes, it is time for this playful, goofy mama to find one of her own as well.
We estimate Lavender was born in the fall of 2024, so she’s full-grown and a medium-sized pup at 41 pounds. Now that her puppies are weaned, Lavender is having a chance to focus on herself and be the fun, playful, young dog she is. And boy does she play! Lavender adores other dogs; she has three pups in her foster home, and she revels in the company. Wrestling, playing chase, a game of tug – you name it, Lavender is up for it. She will do best in a home with other dogs; she thrives in their company. Lavender’s friendly, social nature extends to people as well. She loves cuddling with her people, she’s great with kids, and she recently charmed a crew of fencing contractors at her foster home. With that grin and darling prance, how could she not? Lavender lives with cats in her foster home and wants the cats to play with her like her pup friends, so a dog-savvy cat would be best for her (a home without chickens would be optimal; they are too enticing for her). Lavender loves to ride in the car, and she’s always up for a road trip to the park or wherever your journey takes you. And after her play and adventures, tummy rubs and snuggling up with her special person is the perfect way to end the day.
Lavender has adjusted smoothly to living in a home after her earlier unstable life. She’s crate trained and house-trained, and she’s a great sleeper. Lavender is getting used to walking on a leash, she’s learning her basic obedience commands, and she has never met a plush toy she didn’t love. This silly, playful, and happy girl is ready for a home of her own with people to love her!

Ready to adopt? Now what?
Please take 3-4 minutes and complete our application form at: www.lilaccitypupproject.org. Our adoption team will spring into action! You will have a phone call conversation with a dedicated adoption counselor, and the adoption team will contact your vet(s), if applicable. Once you have been matched with a dog, a meet and greet will be set up and take place at the foster family's home. After the meet and greet, there will be a home inspection and in-home trial prior to adoption finalization.
Lilac City Pup Project is entirely volunteer and foster run, with no kennel facility. Only approved adoption applicants will be able to meet our dogs outside of adoption events.
Adoption Donations:
$350 for Puppies up to 9 months
$300 for Adults 9 months or older
*includes spay/neuter, all core vaccinations, and microchip. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Lilac City Pup Project is a federal 501c3 organization.
Not sure you want to adopt, foster first and adopt later!
LCPP is always in need of fosters. There is an overwhelming number of dogs who need our help and the more fosters we have, the more dogs we can save. LCPP covers expenses, including food. Fosters provide love and a soft place to crash.
At Lilac City Pup Project we strive to better the lives of vulnerable dogs through rescue, foster, and adoption services; educate dog owners and empower them to build successful human/canine relationships; and support the local community by partnering with shelters facing overcrowding and limited resources.
LCPP is organized exclusively for public, charitable, and/or educational purposes under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. LCPP is a Nonprofit organization formed in Washington State in April 2025, by passionate dog lovers. One hundred percent (100%) of every dollar goes to furthering our tax-exempt purpose.
