Story
mowgli is a nice, funny, energetic dog. Our recent move to an apartment has been a huge adjustment for him which unfortunately has not gone well. Mowgli would fit best with someone who has no other dogs because he does best as center of attention, he would love a big yard with space to roam.

Story
Meet Courage, a one-and-a-half-year-old Pit/Catahoula Leopard Dog mix weighing around 60 pounds. Courage was named after Courage the Cowardly Dog, and while he may be a little nervous at first, there is so much more to this stunning boy than his initial hesitation. With his beautiful brindle coat and striking blue eyes, Courage is a head-turner who just needs the right person to help him come out of his shell. It’s clear that Courage hasn’t had much socialization, and new situations can make him nervous. He does best with someone who is confident and calm rather than overly coddling him. When given gentle encouragement and calm support, Courage truly transforms into a different dog. Once he realizes he’s okay, his confidence starts to shine.Courage would be an amazing companion for someone looking for a low-key best friend who wants to stick close by and be your shadow. He may be a little chunky right now and would benefit from a healthy diet and regular walks. Speaking of walks, once you get him moving, he walks great on leash. He may hesitate at first, but a confident start helps him settle right in.Courage isn’t looking for someone to feel sorry for him. He’s looking for someone who will believe in him, give him guidance, and show him that the world isn’t so scary. For the right person, we think Courage is going to be an incredible companion. This pet is available for adoption on 5.15.26 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Meet Molly, a one-year-old Shepherd/Husky mix weighing 50 pounds. When Molly first arrived, she was a very shy girl who wasn’t quite sure what to make of everything. But with some patience, love, and time, she has really come out of her shell—and we couldn’t be happier to see her personality shine!Molly is very human-oriented and has quickly become a favorite among our dog walkers. She walks beautifully on leash and absolutely loves getting out for walks, exploring, and spending time with her people. Once the walk is over, she’s more than happy to trade adventure time for snuggles!Molly can still be a little unsure when faced with new situations, so she’ll appreciate a family who will continue to give her encouragement and let her build confidence at her own pace. She crates well and also enjoys playing with other dogs.Molly is simply a good girl looking for her person—a loving companion who will appreciate her sweet nature and give her the security and TLC she deserves. We think she’s going to make someone a wonderful best friend. This pet is available for adoption on 5/21/2026 2:59 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
