Story
Leia is a German Shepherd/Husky mix. Beautiful German shepherd coat with bright blue husky eyes. I got Leia as a six week old puppy a little over a year before deciding to join the military in 2020. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to take her with me so since I joined she has been in the care of my parents. They are no longer able to provide what she should have in terms of exercise and I’m no longer in a position to take care of her. She is an extremely intelligent dog and with a little training and either consistent exercise or a place that would give her freedom to run around, she would make a great dog! We’re desperate for someone who would provide a lot of love for her and give her a more enjoyable life!

Story
From Chain to Change 💔➡️💛She spent most of her life tied to a chain… watching the world go by, longing for freedom, comfort, and companionship. Her days were small, limited to the length of cold metal and the ground beneath her paws. But not anymore. Now she runs. She splashes. She plays.Since coming into our care, this sweet girl has discovered what it truly means to be a dog. She has friends to romp around with, soft places to rest her head, and a pond that she absolutely loves. Watching her race toward the water with pure joy is something we’ll never get tired of.The chain is gone. The loneliness is gone. And in its place? Freedom, friendship, and a whole lot of happiness. She is finally living her best life — and we are so honored to be part of her journey. 💕To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved. Story
We met Luna on a Monday night (Monday in Spanish is "lunes" and another word for moon is "lunar") in a parking lot. We were coming out of Walmart when a couple we passed asked if we wanted a puppy that needed a home. I said we didnt and we went to our car. My son said that it was sad that they were just giving a new puppy away and we could probably give it a home for a little while and find a better permanent home for it. So I said yes. And that how we got Luna. We de-wormed the poor thing and shes been with us 2 years. She's great with the three kids, other dogs and yes, even cats. Now, she IS a chewer. Lol. But she's so loving and funny. But both parents work full time and the kids are usually with a family member/ babysitter. Plus, we are having to move soon and most places won't allow bigger dogs like her. She's beautiful, a total sweetheart and an active and attentive home would be best for her. We just want her to be loved for the sweetie she is.

Story
Astrid is a sweet, beautiful, four year old Canaan/ Lab blend. Looking into her beautiful blue and brown eyes will steal your heart.  Are you looking for a dog that loves people and enjoys running/playing in the yard?  Astrid is the dog for you!  Though a bit shy when she first meets someone, Astrid will be trusting in a few days. She is super friendly and soon will be a loyal and devoted family member. Astrid would make a wonderful addition to an active family. She loves playing in our pond at the shelter, playing fetch, and getting all the hugs volunteers can give. If you are looking for a perfect loyal companion, Astrid is your girl!  A home with a fenced yard would be ideal, but a committed and devoted family with no fence would be considered. To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved. Due to the high volume of applications received, our Adoption Coordinator will only contact the applicant that best meets the needs of the pet.
