Astrid is a sweet, beautiful, four year old Canaan/ Lab blend. Looking into her beautiful blue and brown eyes will steal your heart.  Are you looking for a dog that loves people and enjoys running/playing in the yard?  Astrid is the dog for you!  Though a bit shy when she first meets someone, Astrid will be trusting in a few days. She is super friendly and soon will be a loyal and devoted family member. Astrid would make a wonderful addition to an active family. She loves playing in our pond at the shelter, playing fetch, and getting all the hugs volunteers can give. If you are looking for a perfect loyal companion, Astrid is your girl!  A home with a fenced yard would be ideal, but a committed and devoted family with no fence would be considered. To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved. Story
Meet Izzy! Izzy is a four year old husky pit mix who was found alone near a dumpster outside Dalton. She has lived mostly outside, and she truly loves kids. She has been gentle and comfortable around the eight year old and the two year old in her current home. Her family needs to rehome her because a new baby is arriving on Christmas and they can no longer give her the care and attention she needs. Izzy is ready for a stable home where she can feel safe, settle in, and start fresh. If you can offer her patience, structure, and a real place to belong, Izzy is ready to meet you. PS If you have always wanted a husky but don't want to deal with the shedding- Izzy is your girl!!

Story
Chloe was born in January of 2017. We have had her since she was taken from Mom. Mom was full blooded Siberian husky, dad was a yellow lab. She has been fixed, house broken, very smart. She was raised with another dog that recently passed at the age of 18 years old. And has always had a cat around also. She was never aggressive with either one. She doesn’t really like small children. The reason we need to rehome her is due to time. We have 5 grandchildren under 2 years old and my husbands mom has dementia and Parkinson’s so due to al of that we just don’t have the time for her. Plus she is gated in the kitchen most of the time. She would make a great companion for someone that could love on her like she deserves.

Story
Mama Dough came to us as a total stray with her nine puppies and has been doing her very best to learn what it means to be safe, loved, and cared for. All of her light-colored pups inspired the “bread litter” name, and Mama Dough is the heart of it all. She is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and people-oriented, forming strong bonds with those she trusts. Her loyalty shines through, and with time, she will be an amazingly devoted companion. Because she spent time surviving on her own, Mama Dough will need a patient home that understands she’s still learning. A securely fenced yard is required for adoption, as she is always on the lookout for an exit. She will benefit from continued training and structure. She’s thriving in her foster home, sleeps great in her crate at night, and loves getting cozy, though she’s still learning to be comfortable being crated during the day. She walks well on a leash and continues to make steady progress every day. Mama Dough would do best with an adopter who can offer patience, guidance, and plenty of love in return for her deep loyalty and affectionate heart. Currently in a foster home in Chattanooga, TN, and available for transport to most locations within the continental United States. Please note: We are unable to adopt to residents of Massachusetts at this time. To apply, complete our official adoption application at yourlocalfurmama.com/adoption-application. Petfinder inquiries are not considered applications. Once your application is received, a member of our Adoptions Team will contact you within 2–3 business days.
