Story
Max is a sweet puppy who loves people and is eager to please. He’s highly food motivated, learns quickly, and knows several basic commands. He enjoys training, loves playing “Find It,” and is making great progress with potty training. He settles quickly in his crate at nap time. Like any puppy his age, he is full of curiosity and energy. He loves sticks, toys, exploring, and playing with the resident dog. He’s still learning impulse control and loose-leash walking, but he’s very smart and responds well to positive reinforcement.Max has a wonderful personality and will make an amazing companion for an active family that’s excited to continue his training and watch him grow. **Max is currently living in one of our amazing foster homes. Adopting from foster is easy! Just contact the adoptions team at 734-662-5585 or email adoptions@hshv.org to set up a visit today!

Story
Hi my name is Hades Rai! I am a good boy and I am looking for an active owner willing to offer training and exercise, but in return I can offer unconditional love and years of happiness. I’m a fun-loving dog who loves to play chase, so a home with cats wouldn’t be a good fit for my exuberant personality. I do have some big feelings about some things in this world and tend to express this by reacting with barking and may be a bit too much for some families. I will need to continue my training and HSHV offers classes for dogs like me! Visit www.hshv.org for more information.

Story
Meet Oliver or as we call him, Ollie! Ollie’s journey hasn’t been easy. When he was first rescued, he was nearly hairless and suffering from painful, mange ridden skin (see last photo). He had been on the euthanasia list at a municipal shelter. A volunteer and a foster fell in love with him, a rescue said yes, and hence started Ollie’s healing journey. Fast forward a few months, he is a handsome, happy, and full of life boy! Most of his fur has grown back beautifully, though he still has a bald patch around his neck and shoulders that may never fully regrow. But honestly, It just adds to his charm. His glow-up is truly something special. Ollie is one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet. His fosters call him their “golden child” because he’s just about perfect. Ollie is fantastic with every person he meets, including kids, and he absolutely adores other dogs. Ollie is both potty trained and kennel trained. He loves playing with other dogs, chewing on toys, going on walks, car rides, and just chilling. His foster family absolutely adores him, and watching him blossom has been nothing short of heartwarming. Ollie does need weekly baths to keep his skin healthy but they are quick and easy, and he is very cooperative. He is estimated to be around 6-7 years old and weighs about 55 lbs. If you think Ollie is your next best friend apply today: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DSTR/Dog Ollie is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas, but is available in many cities around the country. The adoption fee includes the cost of transport.
