This beautiful boy is playful, outgoing and gets along with other dogs! He’s estimated to be about 2 years old! Online Dog Adoption Forms: https://wacshelter.com/adopt-a-dog/ Website for general questions: www.wacshelter.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/wacshelter/ Email: wacvolunteers@gmail.com ** Be sure to check out our FACEBOOK page for day to day updates on our cats and dogs. Canine adoption fee includes: Spay/neuter Age appropriate vaccinations Deworming Flea prevention (if required) Heartworm screening/monthly prevention ** Volunteer dog walkers work with our dogs 7 days a week. What your adoption fee also includes is housetraining, leash walking and a good understanding of the kind of home each dog would thrive in. ADOPTION FEE: $ 150 "People who say money can't buy you happiness, have never paid an adoption fee...." IS THIS DOG SAFE WITH CATS? There is almost always an acclimation period when a new pet joins the household. We are happy to suggest a few ways to ease the transition. If one of our dogs is reported to have lived with cats previously, that will be indicated in the dog's description! IS THIS DOG GOOD WITH OTHER DOGS? No dog loves every other dog, just as humans do not like every other human they meet. A proper introduction (meet and greet) would be required as part of our application process. IS THIS DOG GOOD WITH CHILDREN? The better question is how the children have been taught to handle animals. A dog will respond negatively if he/she is not being handled properly. We can offer suggestions on how to teach children to interact with dogs and pay attention to body language. Young children should never be left unsupervised with new dogs. WHY IS THIS DOG IN THE SHELTER? The top reasons dogs are given up are: Moving without considering the needs of the pets Death of the owner with no plan in place for the pets Previous owner did not provide appropriate training Owner did not consider the lifespan of a dog Owner did not consider the cost of providing for a dog

Story
Meet Jack ?? Jack is a handsome, approximately 5-year-old pup with a mysterious past and a heart that's ready to belong to someone special. While we don't know where he came from, it's clear that Jack is eager to form a strong bond with his person. Jack does experience some separation anxiety, so he's looking for a homebody or someone who's around more often than not. He is currently on Prozac to help manage his separation anxiety, and it has been part of his ongoing progress. In return for your patience and consistency, Jack will reward you with loyalty, enthusiasm, and plenty of personality. If you've been gone a little too long, don't worry &#194&#151 Jack will happily give you the third degree when you walk through the door ?? This smart guy loves his daily walks and has become a master puzzler when treats are involved. Mental stimulation is right up his alley! Jack can be a bit timid at first (we suspect due to his past), but once he warms up, his silly, playful side really shines. Jack is also a little unsure about hardwood and tile floors and is currently not comfortable going down basement steps. With patience, encouragement, and time, he may continue to build confidence in new environments. When it comes to other dogs, Jack needs slow, proper introductions. We are currently working with a trainer to help him feel more comfortable around other dogs, and he is making progress with guidance and structure. Jack is a bit of an escape artist and will look for opportunities to dash out the door, so a secure home with a privacy fence is strongly recommended. For this reason, a home without young children would be the best fit. Jack is best suited for someone patient, understanding, and committed to continuing his training and confidence-building. If you're looking for a loyal walking buddy with a goofy streak and a big personality, Jack just might be your perfect match. ?? **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. All animals will be spayed or neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV or heartworm, given age-appropriate boosters and rabies, dewormed, flea treated, and anything extra that is needed to give this animal a wonderful forever life in a permanent home. Adoption fees are usually $50 for cats and between $150-$250 for dogs, unless the pet is sponsored or we are running a promotion. Please visit our website at sheltertohome.com for information on our adoption process.**January 20, 2026, 11:50 pm
