Story
Ready for her flight home to Vancouver 🇨🇦 🐾 Background Gaga was rescued from a slaughterhouse in Siheung, Korea in the summer of 2023. After her rescue, she spent over two years in a local shelter, waiting for a family that never came. Despite being a sweet and gentle dog, she had no luck finding her forever family in Korea. When we learned about Gaga, her story stayed with us. She felt like the kind of dog who would make a wonderful companion, so we brought her into our care to give her a new chance. We believe her forever home is out there and that someone is waiting for her, even if they have not met her yet. 🐾 Personality and socialization Gaga is a friendly and social girl who warms up quickly, even with strangers. She is not shy and enjoys meeting new people. Once she knows you, she becomes very affectionate and loving. She likes to stay close to her humans and enjoys cuddling, being petted, and spending time together. She is playful in a gentle way and enjoys companionship more than constant activity. She has a soft presence and makes people feel calm around her. With other dogs, Gaga does best with calm and friendly dogs. She is often indifferent to other dogs but gets along well with those who are relaxed and easygoing. Dogs who are overly energetic, loud, or dominant can make her uncomfortable, and she will usually choose to keep her distance. 🐾 Behaviour Gaga has a nice balance of independence and affection. She enjoys spending time with her people but is also content having quiet time on her own. She has been a quiet dog and has not shown much barking. So far, she has not shown signs of separation anxiety or destructive behavour. She enjoys leash walks and does well in the car. At the vet, she may whine but will cooperate. During baths, she may complain a bit but allows handling without big issues. Gaga does not like sudden movements without warning. Being grabbed or picked up unexpectedly can scare her. She does best with gentle and respectful handling. When she feels safe, she is a wonderful snuggler. 🐾 Health and diet Gaga is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccinations. She has been dewormed and is on monthly parasite prevention. She eats dry food twice a day and has been a good eater. She has not shown any allergies. She is healthy and ready for her forever home. 🐾 Ideal home Gaga is an easygoing and lovely dog to have around. She would do well in most households, especially with someone who spends a good amount of time at home and enjoys including their dog in daily life. A calm home with a relaxed lifestyle would be ideal for her. Gaga is ready to finally settle down and enjoy the simple joys of being loved. She has waited a long time for her chance, and she will make a loyal and gentle companion for the right family. ⬇️ Find out more about Gaga from link below: https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/gaga-2/

Story
Hi, my name is Haerang 🐾 I’m a 3-year-old male Shiba–Welsh mix, weighing about 7kg. I have a slim body, short little legs, and bright, sparkling eyes that people often fall in love with right away. I was rescued from a shelter where euthanasia was taking place. Before that, I spent a long time in a shelter environment where I didn’t get many chances to experience the world. I was very shy and fearful back then, often hiding quietly on my own. But I’ve changed a lot since then. As I learned what human warmth feels like, I slowly opened my heart. Now, I truly love people. When you call my name, I’ll happily roll over and show you my belly, wiggling my way toward you for affection. I have a very gentle, calm, and stable personality, and being with me tends to make people feel relaxed and at ease without even realizing it. My favorite thing in the world is my person. I can coexist peacefully with other dogs and even cats, but I’m more of a “one-on-one” kind of guy. I’m happiest in a quiet, calm home where I can enjoy peaceful time with my family rather than a busy, crowded environment. I already know the command “house,” I walk nicely on leash, and I do well riding in the car too. With potty training, I might have a few small accidents in a brand-new environment, but I’m very steady and gentle by nature—if you guide me patiently and kindly, I’ll learn just fine. In unfamiliar places, I may seem a little timid at first. But give me some time, and I’ll be the one coming to you, asking for love. Before you know it, I’ll be following you everywhere like your little shadow—your loyal, affectionate “velcro dog.” I’m not a dog who adjusts instantly. I’m a dog who blossoms when someone waits for me and believes in me. I’ve been learning to trust human arms again, and now I’m ready to give my whole heart to one forever family. If you’re looking for a quiet, gentle companion who will stay close by your side for life, I’m right here—waiting just for you. 💛

Story
Hi… my name is Gaon 🐕 I’m a 4-year-old male Shiba × Jindo mix, and I weigh about 18kg. I was once placed on a shelter’s euthanasia list. Even after I was rescued, no one came for me for a very long time. The shelter became the only home I knew—far longer than any dog should have to endure. When people approach me, I don’t rush forward with excitement. Instead, I watch carefully. I’m afraid you might leave. Afraid I might be alone again. So I open my heart slowly, cautiously. But behind that hesitation is a heart that longs deeply to love a person. I simply never learned how to show it. I went so long without being chosen, without being loved, that I don’t always know how to ask for affection. That’s why I struggle when attention is shared with other dogs. It’s not jealousy—it’s more like a quiet plea: “Please don’t leave me this time.” That’s why I’m hoping for an only-dog home, where I can finally feel secure. When it’s just you and me, I’m a completely different dog. I’ll meet your eyes, lean gently against you, and offer shy little gestures of affection. Once I give my heart, I give it fully— with the deep, unwavering loyalty that Jindo dogs are known for. Home life may feel unfamiliar to me at first. I’ll need time, patience, and understanding. But if you’re willing to walk that slow beginning with me, I promise you this: I will become a dog who makes one person my whole world. A once-in-a-lifetime companion who loves quietly, deeply, and forever. Somewhere in a shelter, I’m still waiting— waiting for the one person who will call my name and mean it for life.

Story
🏠 Currently in a Seattle foster home 🧡 Hi, I'm Milo 🧡 Age: 1 year Breed: Jindo-Shiba Mix Sex: Male Weight: 8kg (just under 18 lbs) I may be fully grown, but I’m a little guy with a big heart—and I’m ready to fill your home with love, one pawstep at a time. People say I look like a little teddy bear, with my soft brown fur and round eyes that are always full of curiosity. I’m small, sweet, and full of quiet charm. You might never guess it from my gentle looks, but I’ve already been through a lot in my short life. I was once on a euthanasia list… but I was saved just in time. Since then, I’ve only known shelter life. A real home? I’ve never had one. But I’m hoping that’s about to change—with you. Because I’ve never lived in a house, I haven’t learned all the rules yet—especially when it comes to potty training. I’m not used to going inside or outside properly, so I’ll need your help learning a routine from scratch. If you gently guide me to the same spot after meals, naps, and playtime—and reward me with yummy treats when I get it right—I’ll catch on quickly. If I make mistakes, please don’t scold me. Just quietly clean up and help me try again. I really want to learn! At first, I might be a little unsure around new people. I don’t trust easily, but not because I don’t want to—it’s just that I’ve never really known what it means to feel safe. That said, I’m very curious, and I love food (especially treats from your hand!). Give me a bit of time, and you’ll see me coming over on my own, asking for pets and showing you my soft, cuddly side. Sometimes sudden movements or unfamiliar touches might startle me, so it’s best to approach slowly at first—low posture, calm energy, and of course… snacks! With your patience and kindness, I’ll learn that hands mean love, not fear. When it’s time for walks, I do best with a chest harness and a backup leash for safety—two points of security, just in case. Quiet streets are my favorite for now. With gentle exposure and encouragement, I’ll slowly grow more confident exploring the world by your side. I know I’m not perfect. I still have so much to learn. But now is the perfect time to teach me. I’m young, open-hearted, and so eager to bond. With love, patience, and a calm guiding hand, I’ll grow into a polite, loyal companion who brings joy to your everyday life. I’ve lived my life behind shelter walls—but I’m ready to trade that for warm beds, gentle walks, and a forever family to call my own. Could that family be you? With hope in my eyes and love in my little heart, Milo 🐾

Story
🏠 Currently  in a Vancouver foster home Hi, I’m Tanya 🤍 Let me tell you my story as I wait for my forever family. I was rescued from a shelter where euthanasia was imminent. With only a short time left, a miracle happened—and I was given a second chance at life. The bright, affectionate dog you see today exists because of that precious second miracle. I’m a loving girl who truly enjoys being close to people. I’m curious, cheerful, and full of warmth. When I get excited, I have short bursts of playful “zoomies,” but overall I have a calm and well-balanced energy. I have a pretty regular potty routine—about three times a day (around 8 a.m., 3 p.m., and 7 p.m.). I can do both indoor and outdoor potty, and I usually use pads in my resting area. I’m not perfect yet, so a little continued potty training would help me shine even more. I eat twice a day and have been enjoying Royal Canin Medium kibble mixed with fresh Duet meals. I have a great appetite and love treats of all kinds! Because I do love food a bit too much, it’s best to keep human food safely out of reach. I’m very cooperative when it comes to grooming. I tolerate paw cleaning after walks, tooth brushing, baths, and even drying—none of them are my favorite, but I stay calm and patient. Nail trims have been done at the vet so far. I’m friendly and social with dogs of all sizes and get along well in group settings. On walks, I might pull a little if I see cats or big birds out of curiosity, but I haven’t shown any aggression toward cats. I bond deeply with my person and love staying close—I even prefer sleeping together. With strangers, I tend to warm up faster to women than men, but once I feel safe, my affection comes through. I walk nicely on leash with little pulling, though I sometimes circle around my person, so a shorter leash helps with control. I’m comfortable wearing both a collar and a harness. Stairs going down are still tricky for me, so I need to be carried, but going up is no problem at all. I love toys, especially squeaky ones—they’re my absolute favorite! I don’t have separation anxiety and can spend time alone calmly and confidently. I love human warmth. I understand the joy of living together. Once so close to the end, I’m now waiting for a family to share my whole life with. Will you be my forever family? 🐾
