Story
I got Nymeria from a friend who's dogs had an accidental litter. From the day I brought her home, she has been so much fun. She lovessss to run (we used to take her to a local outdoor roller rink and let her chase a tennis ball around), cuddle and be outside. We have two under two now, and while she does well with kids, ours are just too little to be gentle enough with a small dog. She would do well in a home with older kids though who can be gentle! She loves some good pets! She does have a double coat, so brushing is a must! She will be 6 this July (7/7) and I just really want to find her a loving home where she can run around and be loved by someone who can give her the space/time/less stressful environment she deserves for the rest of her life. She gets along great with her brother, Wilkerson (Wilkie) and ideally we could find a home to take them both. If not, she does do well with smaller dogs once she gets to know them but doesn't care for bigger dogs!

Story
Panko needs a home with no kids and no dogs. He has not been tested with cats. He is bonded to his humom most and is generally more drawn to women. He is a bit of a cuddle bug, so he would do best with a female as his primary caregiver and snuggle buddy. Panko has been with his family his entire life. He's always been a bit of an anxious dog, which causes him to guard his precious resources. It has always been manageable by eliminating high value treats and giving him his own safe space to eat his meals. After bringing home their 1st child, Panko's anxiety has increased significantly, making his guarding worse. His family recognizes it's not good for him to live with this high level of stress all the time and have made the difficult decision to rehome him. He will need a foster/adopter who understands or is experienced with resource guarding. He is currently working with a highly skilled and experienced trainer and is making amazing progress with counter conditioning. Adopters MUST be willing to have multiple meet and greets with Panko and begin working on training prior to placement. Continued training after placement will also be a requirement. Panko is house trained and was crate trained as a puppy but hasn't used it in a long time. He's a well-behaved boy, and in a home with no kids or pets, would not have a reason to be crated. We have dog tested him and he may be able to have dog friends in the future but will still need to be an only dog. Panko is used to getting 2 walks a day, which helps with his anxiety, so he will need a family who is active. Panko is a very sweet social Shiba. He loves meeting new people and getting scratches! He will always remember a new friend and will give a tail wag and want to say hello when he bumps into them. He has lots of energy and never tires on his walks. He is used to having a yard and loves to roll in fresh green grass and his favorite game is biting at the water from the hose. If you are interested in Panko, please fill out an adoption application ASAP! If you are already on our waitlist, please reach out to let us know you are interested. Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure TJ finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   TJ | 1 Year Old Shiba Inu/Lab Mix | Playful, Curious, and Full of Personality Meet TJ, an energetic and affectionate 6-month-old Shiba Inu/Lab mix who’s as sweet as he is spunky. Weighing in at about 19 pounds, TJ is still very much a puppy—curious about everything, eager to play, and learning as he goes. He’s doing well with kennel training and sleeps through the night like a champ. While he’s making progress with house training, he still has some work to do and will thrive with consistency and patience. TJ loves other dogs and would do best in a home with a playful canine companion who can help him learn structure and boundaries. He’s also great with kids and does well with cats—though he mostly just acknowledges them and moves on. Walks are an adventure for TJ; he’s still learning not to pull and may chew on his leash, but he’s eager to please and motivated by food, toys, and affection. This fun-loving pup has a medium-to-high energy level and enjoys keeping up with active dogs like Aussies and Border Collies. When left alone, he does best with another dog for company and may get into mischief if he finds something chewable—so he’ll need a home that’s puppy-proofed and ready to guide him through his growing stages. TJ is playful, loving, and ready to find a family who can keep up with his energy and enthusiasm. With a bit of training and a lot of love, he’s sure to become a loyal, joyful companion for life.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $450 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
